On my 2nd to last day, I had a delicious omelette w/orange juice & coffee at the hotel restaurant. I didn’t eat the potatoes. The next day before my flight out of San Francisco, I decided to have the omelette again but w/the potatoes. No juice or coffee. Within 10 minutes of eating, my stomach started to turn. I tried to get to the bathroom on the other side of the lobby but ended up throwing up in my cloth napkin. Despite seeing me with a napkin over my mouth and in distress, the front desk I passed showed no interest in what was wrong with me. A receptionist named Ally happened to walk in after I cleaned myself up. I told her what happened and she was kind enough not to charge me for the meal. I came down 20 minutes later to check out. I asked the other receptionist for some Tums. Even though he saw everything, he wanted to charge $2 to my room for the Tums. I had to wait for Ally to finish with another customer before asking her to please give me the Tums. She said yes and asked what made me sick. I told her it might be the potatoes, the only thing I didn’t eat the day before. She said she would need to inform security if I was claiming food poisoning. I told her I wasn’t claiming anything. I mentioned the meal I had the day before and how nothing happened. The staff at the restaurant and the maid service were nice but the front desk, from check in to check out were not friendly, courteous or interested in making my stay pleasant, except for giving a sick person Tums.

Provide guests with water.
I was surprised that there was no complimentary water in the room. Apparently, you have to go to the lobby to get a bottle. The fridge, designed as if to discourage keeping anything inside, was empty.
