Friendly Staff Very Clean
This was a great location. The staff was responsive and friendly. We were able to get a hot meal and take it to our room both nights. Note: there is no free parking. However, having the parking garage in Houston will be great for summer travelers.

Good option near Galleria
Overall, a very nice stay... Comfortable beds, good breakfast with plenty of hot and cold options, decent sized rooms and nice lounge areas off the lobby with seating and tvs to watch football, plus an on-site bar. Only complaints are very low water pressure in the showers and a couple people at the front desk weren't as friendly and helpful as they should have been. Most of the staff was pleasant and helpful, though.

Overall the room and property was very well maintained. A clean, fresh modern look. The breakfast was great, with various options available. I would like to point out a couple of things. One: my reservation was made and confirmed with Staybridge but at check-in I was told it was under the Holiday Express side. Not a big deal since the HE had a small refrigerator in the room, which I wanted. The other thing was my room was connected to another and so the guest in that room was hacking / coughing up phlegm and just was gross sounding and loud like they were in the same room with us, plus could hear their music while in the bathroom. That was the only negative for us.

This is a nice place with a nice gym, nice pool, and nice breakfast area. Room was nice. Honestly everything was good except one thing. We were disappointed that there was no option for a cleaning service on a Sunday. Due to an unforeseen circumstance our room became very messy over the weekend and it was very upsetting that there was no option to clean things up. I wish that would change.

ON FREEWAY -TOO LOUD FOR LIGHT SLEEPERS
They do not tell you that they are adjacent to a very loud and busy freeway at night. So if you are a light sleeper like me this is not the hotel for you! Even with earplugs. Maybe with noise cancelling headphones you could sleep but then you are sleeping with headphones on all night. We also had the idea that they were right next to the Galleria but you would have to drive or walk under a freeway intersection so it was not what we had expected for a Mother/Daughter trip. When I went the first morning to ask for a quieter room the woman told me that they were sold out. She also asked me if anyone had told me that the 14th floor with city view was loud. She knew it was a loud room and was surprised that no one at the hotel had informed me of this. She handed me earplugs. Aaron checked me in the day before and said nothing about this. I tried a second night with earplugs but it was not helpful. The hotel was clean but the pool is tiny. Also the first night we could not get into the gym. The door handle was broken. I also got hit by the elevator door. It also hit other people in the shoulder when they were entering the elevator. We left on the second and when I spoke to the manager, Aaron, he said when his family stayed on the 14th flr they did not complain about the noise. Very disappointed that he was not more considerate to other people's opinions that are paying $275+ a night. Will not return.
