A little more attention to detail
Check-in was good. Room looked clean when we got in. Bed was not the best in terms of cleanliness. Found a sock from previous guest left in the bed as well as stains on the bed sheets.. But other then that it was a decent place

Malfunctioning fire alarm
I called ahead for an early check in and was told our room would be ready at 1:30 pm but it wasn't ready until 3 and we had to sit and wait in lobby. We ultimately got upgraded to a suite which was nice but the fire alarm malfunctioned over our bed and kept strobe flashing at random times waking us up. I went down to complain at front desk around midnight and of course when they went up to look it didn't do it. I don't think they believed me. Worst sleep in a hotel ever. I mentioned it again on check out but I was just given a "sorry to hear that. You're all paid already so have a nice day".

Outstanding St Catharines hospitality
This was our second time here and the service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant staff was particularly welcoming and shared helpful suggestions and warm hospitality. The room and common areas were all immaculately clean and nicely decorated. In the morning the window sills in the room were soaked with water from either a leak or condensation.

We had three room reservations. Two were ready early which was nice. The third room was not ready at 3 nor was it ready at 4 when we left for our function. The rooms really need to be updated. There is no vanity in the washrooms. Just a three tiered metal basket craft holder. Not really safe for using electrical hair appliances- no where to safely place them. There is no closet either. Just a small armoire when you first walk into the room which is behind the door. It is no where near the bedroom. One good thing about the king suite was that the seating area was spacious.

The property was perfect for a girls getaway. The only issue we had was the hockey teams that were allowed to run wild throughout the hotel all weekend. We tried to use the pool at 9pm at night after 10 minutes we were joined by 20 unsupervised 10 year old boys roughhousing. We ended up leaving after 10 minutes. We reported it to the front desk as we watched as one almost cracked his head on the side of the pool but nothing was done.

This was the absolute worst and most unsafe hotel stay I have ever had. We were in town for a wedding and there were youth hockey teams staying at the hotel as well. These kids were between the ages of 7-16 and it was at least 60 kids who were unattended while their parents/chaperones were drinking beer and playing loud music all night until 4:30am. These kids were running around the hotel with hockey sticks, smacking balls into hockey nets they set up in common hallways while guests were walking in the hallways. I tripped over 1 of them and a member of my family was hit in the face with a ball. The kids trashed the hotel pool, threw the pool lounge chairs into the pool and put shampoo all over the pool deck floors so people would slip. They had to shut down the pool and no guests could use it. Hospital staff did nothing but claimed they had security guards. I saw 1 security guard 1 time during my weekend stay and that was at 1am in the morning while he was hiding in the stairwell texting on his phone. This was the worst stay I have ever had in my life.
