Wander through Kenroku-en, one of Japan's three great gardens, marvelling at its meticulously manicured landscapes. Explore the well-preserved samurai district and visit Kanazawa Castle to immerse yourself in feudal-era splendour.
This city is lovely slower paced than other Japanese cities, with a more traditional feel. The garden and castle grounds are so beautiful and we also enjoyed exploring the gold leaf museum and ninja weapons museum. Station has great shopping/dining

One of my favourite cities to visit in Japan. Feels relaxing while providing a good mix of activities and old Japan sites to explore. The hotels are less expensive and there's less congestion in the area making the trip more zen and peaceful.

With the castle, the garden, the geisha districts and samurai district, 1-hour from Shirakawa and 2 hours from Takayama by bus, Kanazawa is a great destination. Not too big or too busy, we can easily navigate and walk everywhere.

I really like the city for its architecture quality and its artistic atmosphere. Around the castle, there is a forest area that is covered with high trees, and we can enjoy Kanazawa for its nature too. The restaurants are also high quality.

The parts of the city we enjoyed the most were the most traditional ones but overall the city offers so many things that you'll find always something nice to visit! Highly recommend to spend at least a couple of days there if you get the chance.
"Bed was comfortable. The staff incredibly accommodating. Gave maps with clear walking instructions to famous markets, samurai streets, Kenrokuen garden and Kanazawa Castle. This while next to modern shopping. It is an excellent location. "
"The hotel is a short walk from the train station, very convenient. When I arrived, I was impressed by the beauty of the lobby. The staff was very friendly & attentive. The room was on the 28th floor, with an excellent view of the city. It was very spacious, with great facilities. I had dinner at the Garden House & the buffet was amazing. If I ever get back to Kanazawa again, I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended!"
