Scam, never got instructions for the "apartment"
Scam Scam!!! Worst experience ever! I had to stayed somewhere else cause it was impossible to get the checkin instructions through a webpage/link they sent to my email. Dont waste your time with this scam!!

The lobby was a storage for towels, elevator did not work and it was not fun to walk the staircase without a functioning light. Trash on the stairs as well. Seems as somebody kicked in a door and an amateur was hired to repair it

Disappointed
Changed accommodation at the very last minute which was a far less standard than we had booked. It was much further away and we had to carry luggage across the city. The apartment was very dusty, the shelves were hanging off the walls, the TV had been ripped away from the wall, patio doors broken, lamps not working. We received a far less standard than what we had booked.The communal hallway nd stairs were filthy and smelt disgusting. The elevator was broken. However, the new apartment was very spacious.

El alojamiento estaba sucio. Muchos muebles sucios y viajes en los cuales no se puede descansar. No recomiendo coger este alojamiento aunque la ubicación es perfecta, no se puede dormir en un alojamiento así.

Hi. We just stayed at smartflats in Ghent. Just a few comments Our check in time was 4:00 pm. We arrived and the apartment was still being cleaned. The cleaners asked we return in 15 minutes. We left and returned 30 minutes later and it wasn’t quite ready. The cleaner did apologize. I messaged the property with a few concerns but yet to hear back from them. In the main area -the towel holder in the bathroom was broken -the outlets in the sitting area were coming off the wall -the chairs and chair cushions had stains on them -my son sat on one of the chairs and it’s leg was broken - some of the blinds were broken Upstairs Bedroom 1 - the patio door lock was broken -there was an egg between the bed slats -the pull-down blind on the skylight was taped down Bedroom 2 -the light was coming off the ceiling - the night stand had a huge chip broken off the top - the blinds on one side were taped down and the other side was broken Main bathroom - there was no lock on the door

Worst ever experience!!!
This was honestly the worst experience we could have imaged. We arrived to our apartment, half an hour after the 4pm check in deadline to find it in an unimaginable state. Rubbish everywhere, beds in disarray - bathroom in disgusting condition. It was obvious it hadn’t been cleaned. The apartment also did not at all match the photos, which is why we booked in the first place as it looked very nice! The contact number proposed also did not work to get hold of the agent of Smartflats Ghent is this a fake company?!?!! My family and I had to make other arrangements as it was impossible to stay here. A very stressful experience! I have immediately logged a complaint and will be demanding a refund. This property should NOT be listed on your website!

Worst experience with hotels.com
This property is a scam. Dirty and in poor conditions.. no amenities and microwave oven which should have been included as stated in its description. TV and windows are broken. Loads of dead insects in the flat. It is not cheap but I receive 0 service. Connected with their CS but they asked me to buy those myself as they are out of stock. I dont understand why it could describe itself as a four star property… if I were hotels.com I would of taking it offshelf.

Rentals like this shouldn't be allowed
Probably the worst accommodation i have stayed in. There have been a lot of poor reviews since i booked and I can see why. I booked this due to the location (which was great) but rentals like this should not be allowed. What i got was not what was advertised Safety - no buttom on top floor to call the lift. It is broken. Safety - lighting in public stairwells and halls flickered on and off. Very hazardous on narrow stairs. The floors and mirrors were filthy, glass dining table full of handprints/marks, lighting fixture in bedroom exposed, brown stains on bedroom walls and lots of scuffs everywhere, mould on shower, cracked showee screen, no handsoap or toiletries (as advertised, just some gel on the wall), limited loo roll, no string/pulley on the blind, No duvet/blanket for the pull out couch. When i asked for some i was told no. Luckily there was a trolley full of sheets downstairs so the couch-user had to cover himself with loads of sheets. At least i knew the bedclothes were clean. I'm embarrassed i stayed in this flat, these types of rentals shoulder be allowed.

Please Avoid staying here.
Our stay at this hotel in Ghent was extremely disappointing. The room lacked basic amenities such as toiletries, tissue paper, and a dust bin. Despite being listed, there was no microwave. The door was hard to open and the cleanliness was subpar. Windows were broken, and exposed wires posed a safety hazard. We left after one night. This hotel should not be renting rooms in such a state. Its central location is the only positive aspect. AVOID STAYING HERE

Excellent in places, disappointing in others
Location excellent as very near centre. Would have been good to know about the 6 flights of stairs in the property description. A number of minor issues which we notified straight away - to be fair we asked for nobody to fix them while we were there but I took photos on arrival so we wouldn't be accused of anything.

Smart Flats Ghent is a scam
The state of the appartment is terrible, completely run down. Dirty, no blankets on the bed at arrival. The beds are old Ikea beds, no support you could feel the wooden support of the frame and my ass was almost touching the ground. High price for what it is, pictures on Hotels.com look very nice, but reality is completely the opposite. The support team is outsourced to a company somewhere in a third world country where, people just say sorry all the time, but can't do anything. This accomodation should be banned from Hotels.com. I am using Hotels.com for years now and have never been disappointed like this. We left the appartment after 2 hours of frustation. What was supposed to be a nice family trip turned out to be a disaster. I would like to have my money and reward night back.

La pire expérience
Nous avons réservé et payé pour 4 personnes. Nous sommes arrivés à l'appartement (3ème étage sans ascenseur avec une personne avec mobilité réduite ! sans que jamais ce détail ait été mentionné). Le logement était préparé seulement pour 2 personnes. Il n y a avait pas des draps, ni oreillers, ni couverture ni serviettes de toilette pour les deux autres personnes. Alors imposible de dormir sur place. Les ustensiles de cuisine étaient aussi réduits à seulement 2 fourchettes, coûteux, cuillères, donc impossible de manger sur place, alors que c'est tout l'intérêt de louer un appartement. Nous avons contacté par téléphone Smartflats à 3 ou 4 reprises ! Le standard assurait avoir reporté la situation mais nous n'avons jamais eu de réponse. Personne n'est venue. Trois appels sans qu'une solution ne soit trouvée. Alors vers 23 heures (!!) nous avons décidé de quitter l'appartement et chercher une autre option pour dormir car IL ÉTAIT IMPOSSIBLE DE DORMIR SANS LE MINIMUM QUI EST D'AVOIR DES DRAPS ET DES OREILLERS ! Nous sommes très dépités et déçus de cette expérience

Wir haben für vier Personen gebucht, haben aber nur Bettwäsche für zwei Personen erhalten zwei Tage ohne Bettwäsche, Toilette Waschbecken war undicht unter dem Waschbecken, ganze Toilette mit Wasser voll Heizung könnte man nicht abstellen. Es war im Zimmer über 30°.

Avoid at all cost
They switched flats from the flat they confirmed in my booking to another flat altogether at another address and which did not look like the photos on which I based my choice. The wifi did not work and 18 hours after they acknowledged this no action had been taken. The lights in the bathroom did not work. The lift in the building did not work (flat on second floor) The plug hole in the shower was blocked making the shower unusable without flooding the flat. There were scratches and soil marks on the walls. A total catastrophe from start to finish. So bad I left and booked another hotel.

The apartment had great "potential". Wonderful location, french windows opening to little balconies on 2 sides of living room, spacious. However it needed to be completely renovated - black mold around shower, loud creaky doors, worn out wood flooring, furniture old and grubby, no usable pots and pans, no coffee maker or kettle, no salt, oil, coffee, soap, dish soap, paper towels or basics that other apartments provide, no microwave, no mirrors except one in the smelly bathroom, in bedroom one curtain broken and one blind broken, no fans (the neighborhood is busy so too bright/noisy at night to keep windows open), instructions not provided for wifi or thermostat, even the apartment number was not provided in the initial directions. This apartment needs to be completely renovated with new everything but we got the impression the management do not care.
