I didn't love my experience there. The bed was comfortable, but there was rat feces in several locations around the room, as well as a rag wrapped around an exposed pipe to keep it from dripping. I opted for the private bathroom, but, avoided using it because it was so unsanitary. To top it off, i came back around 11 one night and had someone asking me to let them in the property. I dealt with it. But, it really shouldn't have been up to me to deal with that. The bed was comfortable and there was good public transportation to the property. But, I still wouldn't recommend staying here because of my experience

In a pinch OK
Arrived to a home that had been partitioned off into many different rooms. Was given code to house and room I was given was first one after you entered the home. Entered the room and it was about 35 degrees with the curtains and window open. No air conditioning unless I wanted to move to the basement. Was told not to worry that it would cool down at night but wasn't sure about leaving window open. Many other people showed up to sleep there and woke me up at 4 am as they slammed doors. Bathroom on main floor had a toilet and sink. I didn't look for a shower. In a pinch it met my needs as close to York U.

Bring your own toiletries, shampoo and body wash were the only items provided. The doors are a little bit hard to close but not too bad. The lady of the house was friendly and happy to please you.

A basic room at a basic rate
Very basic accommodation but a short walk from York U at a very reasonable rate. One detail I really appreciated is that there was a choice of blankets for the bed —the typical arctic-weight duvet, but also a lighter blanket more suitable for temperate conditions.

The property flooded while I was there. The concert I was in town for also rained out. I was so exhausted from driving all night and standing in the rain waiting for the show that I didn’t care about the flooding or the sound of the built in sump pump( so it must happen often) banging away and slept. I was awoken by loud conversation at 8am and quickly left the property. The lady who checked me in was nice. Other than that I feel like a refund is in order.

Ok but improvements needed
A last minute trip to Toronto. Solo traveller. Communication was hit and miss. I found the cleanliness in the bedroom and the shared toilet and shower room was pretty poor. Huge smell coming from the owners kitchen when they cooked. Positive was that the location was good and the parking was free and convenient.
