This is a small but friendly hotel with a fondness for everything literary. We were drawn to it by its quirky theme and decor, something different from other hotels in the area. Desk staff and housekeeping were all very friendly, personable and helpful. It was nice to be able to walk into the attached coffee shop for caffeine and a breakfast sandwich. My wife appreciated that they have gluten free bread.

The staff was great. The room had so many above and beyond extras such as great books to read a window that opened (with safety measures of course) and basically anything required upon request such as yoga mats, microwaves and room defusers. You could basically walk everywhere and the area is safe although be careful which direction you travel in the evening.

Its conveniently located and I was able to do a lot on my first day. I had lunch at Sears, great food and service. I shopped around and got on the Big Bus to tour SF and got back in time to take the #30 bus to Oracle Park to watch a baseball game. They have wonderful staff and are very accommodating.
