During our stay, there was ongoing renovation work in the South Point rooms, which was not communicated at the time of booking. The amenities closed earlier than expected, with no operational hotel bar—only a stand with a cooler for beverages. Additionally, the pool bars and stands closed well before the pool itself, and the air conditioning unit struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature. Despite running continuously throughout our four-night stay, the AC never reached the desired auto temperature setting. The mini fridge was unable to keep items cold, requiring us to request a second unit, which performed slightly better.
These issues were reported, but there appeared to be a lack of urgency in addressing them. Although the AC unit was inspected, no resolution was provided. Considering the outdoor temperatures in Phoenix ranged from 110 to 118 degrees Fahrenheit during our visit, this was quite disappointing.
Furthermore, the bathtub faucet seemed to have a faulty mixing valve, resulting in a constant cycle between extremely hot and cold water. Once hot water was turned on, it did not regulate properly, and the temperature had to be manually adjusted to cold to achieve a reasonable temperature.
