Pool closed & etc……
Overall the hotel was ok. We were very excited to go swimming but we were informed at check in the pool was closed for a deep cleaning. I wish we knew ahead of time, we would have changed hotels. The room was clean but the vent in my bathroom is really what needed a deep cleaning. Then on our last night, we were woken up (4:45 am) to the sound of the smoke detector going off in the empty room next door. The desk clerk was able to disconnect it within about 10 minutes but falling back asleep was difficult. I expressed my disappointment at check out about the pool & noise but was only given an apology I was really hoping for some sort of discount.

Clean room/comfy bed
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the pool was closed and there was no prior notice so we were very disappointed because it was a family weekend. The coffee ran out and breakfast was rather dismal. Price was good though.

Bewary of stay
Booked for business trip, arrived in time for construction to begin and fumes were horrible and for the pool to be unavailable for the entire week. The management was unavailable.

Not worth the stay
Hotel was under construction. Work being done everywhere. Pool was out of commission. Rooms were destroyed. Work needed to be done in ours as the door looked like it had water damage and paint was chipped throughout the room. By the heater, looked like someone cut out a huge section and left it looking like it still needed repairs. Main light in room didn’t work.

Check in was 5 star. My arrival was planned for and room and keys allocated prior to arrival. Gentleman at check was superb. Breakfast was missing a lot of items but given my overnight cost caused me no concerns.

Not as good as last visit
Last time I stayed here I was solo and really impressed with the value for dollar and the super friendly staff especially the front desk clerk. This time I was with my wife and I had told her how great everything was compared to the other Ann Arbor hotels we have stayed in. Check in was fast and easy and we were greeted with the same friendly welcome as my last stay. They had coffee, water and cookies out plus a welcome bag with snacks and water. When we got to the room it was a far cry from the room I had on my last visit. It wasn't dirty but it seemed run down. It was also smaller with very little area for luggage or places to hang clothes. There was also only one trash can and no recycling can for the whole room which is odd. They offered a free breakfast but it seemed to be missing some stuff. Sunday morning there was a steam tray with bacon and potatos but no eggs. Sunday night there were very few other guests so on Monday morning the hotel was pretty empty and they didn't put out any breakfast at all, they had to-go bags with a juice box and granola bars. Overall not bad but a let down since my last visit.

Check in by Leslie was outstanding. Welcome kit was wonderful & thoughtful surprise . Room conditions: + Great rate for lodging, Staff, New carpeting, paint? Clean presentable bathroom. Overall good appearance. - Ancient TV with limited channels (but works ok) Old used towel left hanging on back of bathroom door. Doors losing finish at edges (aging appearance). No hand soap in bathroom. Breakfast eggs and sausage were bleak, at best. Overall experience Ok.
