my room had bugs in it also the water backs up when you run it for an shower and when i checked in the lady was giving me attitude with me

Not a great experience.
There was hair in the sink. Bathroom was dirty. Decor was extremely old/outdated. Walls were stained/dirty. It was a nonsmoking room but it smelled like stale cigarettes. Lightbulbs were missing. Neughborhood seemed sketchy. Front desk was pleasant.

Every other room has roaches in it. Also carpet smells like smoke while I had kids here with me. No compensation was given.

After a very stressful time at the airport, I arrived after a cancelled flight to an older man at the front desk who simply grunted at me. He gave me no information about the hotel, about the breakfast I’d paid for. He didn’t speak to me. It felt very unwelcoming. The following morning, the breakfast was not edible- and I am not a fussy eater. I would not stay at a Howard Johnson again.
