從未住過那麼差的酒店，五日四夜沒有一天做個清潔，酒店詳情說明(每日清潔客房) 沒有毛巾，向大堂服務員講，需要毛巾必須向大堂服務員取，〈但配給〉每人每次取一大及一細條毛巾。 垃圾及用完的毛巾每天早上自已放出客房門边。 客房裹面都是一般，再來愛丁堡不會入住！

Spoiled by renovations and bad room
Having used Cityroomz Edinburgh a few times, we trusted them when booking again. After leaving luggage there before checking in, we received an email to say the room is ready (long before check-in time) and that the luggage was already taken to it which was great. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and a joy to be around. The downsides sadly are that the hotel is being renovated in some form. The usual entrance is moved and there's no lift. Being put on the very top floor too, wasn't ideal. Certainly request a lower floor if you have issues walking or carrying bags. The renovation noise can be heard in the room during the day, starting at 8am. So be prepared for it, if you need to rest during the daytime. The room itself is usually good, but I think we drew the short straw. It was a low ceiling on one side, quite cold, the shower was very small and an adult human can't sit on the toilet in the usual way because of the shower door. Either sit sideways or open the door and put your feet in the shower. WiFi works, room and hotel is clean, staff lovely, I just hope the renovations hurry up for their own sake.

En points positifs: nous avons été très bien accueilli, la chambre est propre, le matelas et les oreillers sont parfait et la bouilloire avec le café fournit est un vrai plus. En points négatifs: pas de prises à côté du lit ni dans la salle de bain, décor un peu vieillot, hôtel pas très accueillant du fait des travaux et pas d’ascenseur

An alright stay, but not worth the asking price.
The hotels location is pretty good. Easy access to points of interest and shopping. No complaints with the service, the staff was nice. However the rooms were nothing to write home about. We travelled here in November. You could feel the leaky window, while the radiator were blasting heat. This resulted in a quite "moist" room feeling. This could be seen with the moldy window and mold in the bathroom. Other than the mold, the room seemed clean enough. This is one of the cheaper hotels in Edinbourgh. While you probably will not get much more for the money elsewhere, I do not think this hotel is worth the money. Would we stay here again? Maybe, but probably not.

One good, one bad
Good: Sent a lovely note and gift for our anniversary Bad: Shelagh on night reception has a poor attitude - the room keycards did not work repeatedly and she seemed to want an apology from me as she said the hotel keycard had been deactivated by being next to my mobile phone in my pocket!

Complaint
The room was incredibly noisy. On the second night of our stay we did not sleep due to the fire alarm going off and the staff members not knowing how to turn off the alarm at 3.00am. This disrupted our night and the next day of our trip. This resulted in myself and my partner not being able to settle and none of the hotel staff were there to reassure us. The key card to the main reception and our room continuously stopped working, therefore we had to keep going to reception to resolve this. We were allocated a room on the top floor and for the duration of our stay the lift in the hotel did not work, despite being told it was being fixed the day we arrived.

Great location, ok hotel
You could heat everything from the street. I slept like a baby, but my fiance had under an hour per night with sleep. Police, ambulances and firetrucks were driving by nonstop with sirens on, it sounds like they are inside the room. Escalator still didn't work, so there were some stairs to conqure everyday. The receptionists said they could help carry lugage if you needed help. Receptionists were always nice and you could ask the anything, and they would gladly help. Cleaning wise: I don't think they have enough time to do it really well. We had cleaning every second day. They didn't change the sheets, just wrapped it again. We had thrown a toiletroll with two sheets left on it into the bin, it was taken out of the bin and hung back up - that's a bit nasty. Overall: Not soundproof, troubles with escalator, friendly receptionists, great location, cleaning could be a bit better.
