The Good and Bad
Let me start of by saying this is a small hotel compared to the megaplexes that loom over the beaches of Cancun. However, an overall nice hotel. It’s a little older and the building shows. It is a very clean hotel, lobby, bathrooms, rooms, restaurants.  The pool area has two levels, both pools are clean, and are kept clean. I mostly stayed on the upper deck pool, as it was mostly vacant, which was nice. However, that means that the bartenders walking around the pool, didn’t it make over there quite often. The drinks are good.  Check in was smooth, you have the opportunity to check in online before you arrive at the hotel. Reception was phenomenal, excellent service, always willing to assist. I had some issues with the safe and the hot water, and they were quick to get someone to assist me, and maintenance followed up right away. The hot water was mainly that I didn’t know how to work the lever.  I was not very happy that I was accosted by concierge right away, and this is were my overall experience was affected. The gentleman who assisted me made it known right away that I would not be made privy or acesss to some of the exclusive “members only privilege”. They asked who I booked with and I booked with Hotels.com. Guest are differentiated by red and blacks bands, the red ones being the lesser ones. The black bands have access to an exclusive bar by the pool lounge area. This small experience put somewhat of a damper because your left feeling like a second class citizen.

Interessante para quem procura quantidade e variedade em um hotel bem localizado. Para quem busca qualidade, eu escolheria outro hotel. Positivos: - Boa localização - Praia bonita, bem cuidada e de fácil acesso - Apesar de ser um hotel antigo, de maneira geral suas dependências são bem cuidadas, com algumas exceções. - Bom atendimento no check-in, na recepção. - Restaurante do hotel St. Tropez muito bom, com comida boa, fresca e com vista linda para a a praia e mar. - O hotel é perto de restaurantes muito bons da rede Andersons, dá para ir a pé no Porfirio’s, Harry’s e Fred’s. Restaurantes que servem comida de qualidade, drinks bem feitos e com excelente atendimento. Negativos: - As bebidas nos bares não são geladas, especialmente a cerveja. As bebidas não ficam em refrigeradores, ficam em caixas cheias de água e gelo, por isso nunca ficam geladas. - Os drinks nos bares são muito mal feitos. Parece que fazem muito rápido, ou não tem treinamento adequado para fazer. - A comida no restaurante de buffet (Zango) tem bastante variedade, mas tem baixíssima qualidade. Pouca opção de carne bovina, e a opção que tinha geralmente estava quase queimada, não estava suculenta. - No restaurante Frattinis a comida foi servida mergulhada na manteiga. Nesse dia, do nosso grupo de 04 pessoas, 3 tiveram problemas gastrointestinais depois da comida. Enfim, de maneira geral tivemos uma boa experiência. Mas se um dia nós voltarmos a Cancun, não ficaríamos no Santos novamente.

The entertainment staff were amazing as well as the views. The only complaints were in the room service and housekeeping department. They were not very professional. The food there was also average. I’ve had much better Hispanic food in America. However, besides these few complaints everything else was perfect, I highly recommend staying especially if these complaints are fixed.

Very nice resort. Bring cash because everything is quite expensive. Laundry service expensive, spa expensive, anything that’s not food and your room is expensive. The food is mostly pretty good, definitely not gourmet but good enough. Lots of nice events and parties organized by resort staff. Lots of fun and games. Nice stay good time.

Sandos Cancun can best be utilized as a home base for further exploration of the area, like parasailing or exploring the authentic Mexican bone marrow tacos at local steakhouses like Porfirio’s. Thank you to Stephano, the front desk manager, and Luis, the manager at the spa for smoothing our stay. We ended up with 7 massages and hydrotherapies. Mario and Mily, our massage therapists, took excellent care of us and made sure we got the most out of the experience. The best restaurant of the resort is the St. Trop, from which breakfast and lunch really do look like the view from the St. Tropez region’s restaurants on the coast of France. Rosalia and Rocio, our wait staff there, were very professional and the manager Kenya handled the daily operations very well.There are yet ways to make the most of this hotel. Make sure to explore the gym/spa, under one roof, check out the VIP bar on the sixth floor. You will want to check out Bar One as well as catch live music at eight pm featuring local talents, with seating indoors with a scenic seated outdoor section. I would recommend steakhouse Porfirio’s (around the corner) for top-world experience for food, service & location. Check out Isla Majestica for snorkeling & other attractions like its beaches as this is the best quality destination for those categories for sure. Overall, a good stay and I would recommend this hotel to others who may be considering it. The other hotels seem rather empty compared to Sandos. Thanks for reading!
