Go to Arles! It is charming and sophisticated, authentic and historic. There are ancient Roman structures (an arena and an amphitheater and more) as well as the Van Gogh "trail." The fascinating Camargue region can be visited easily during your stay!

Arles is the most beautiful town with so much history, culture and dining options. There is also a train station, so accessing other towns in the area is very easy.

An ancient city in Provence, founded by Julius Caesar. Not to be missed on any itinerary to the South of France.

Arles is historical with an amazing Arena. Town is a little scruffy, not horrible. Maybe just some paint or power washing would upgrade it.

Good time to go in late September: very warm but not stiflingly hot, probably less crowded than in July or August.

Arles is the most beautiful town with so much history, culture and dining options. We loved our stay once we had checked into L'Arlatan, and had a fantastic experience! There is also a train station, so accessing other towns in the area is very easy.
"The front desk staff was exceptional - knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly! The rooms were quite large, clean and despite the location beside a major route, we were not affected. It’s a 20 minute walk into Arles itself but with all the good food you’ll be eating, you should indeed be walking! "
"It's impossible to drive into center of town to drop off luggage. The instructions were not clear and google maps are completely wrong. It takes a lot of patience, but once in, the place is fantastic. "
"We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Brit Hotel Acacias. The staff, check-in, and room were all terrific. Parking was easy, and the hotel is the first building you come to when you walk through the old city walls. Best part of all - they have a decent size elevator! Most of the boutique hotels do not have elevators. We would definitely stay here again."
"The lady attendant was very kind and helpful. The room quite comfortable with no special details,No coffee nor toiltetries. Bus stop was 4 blocks away. Breakfast was very poor. I recommend not to book the room with b, fast included"
