"Our stay surpassed expectations. Check in was friendly and very professional. Everything was covered by the receptionist. The room was spacious and fresh - the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and was much appreciated in the heatwave! Breakfast was plentiful and a small choice of cooked breakfast was on offer - all piping hot! The staff were very efficient at clearing tables and topping up supplies. Everything spotlessly clean. Well done and thanks to the amazing team at this hotel."

"Our stay was excellent. All the staff are exceptional from the moment we arrived. From the reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff & cleaners they all welcomed us. They always had a smile and treated us with respect. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious with a good selection. Although the hotel is close to a busy road it did not disturb us at all. The bed was comfortable. We will certainly be back. Thank you. "

"I booked the hotel to stay in for 3 nights with my daughter whilst I was playing in the Pickleball English Open in Telford. I always look for a pool and looking at some of the reviews this was a bit of a gamble, however it definitely paid off ! Yes, the hotel is a little dated and could do with some investment, however, it was clean, the suite size was very good and the price was great value. The pool was pretty awesome. It is in a separate wooden building and was really warm, with a jacuzzi. The steam room was out of action, but the sauna wasn't and was also great. We somehow managed to use the pool twice a day, every day. I come to Telford pretty regularly, and this will now be the hotel I will book every time."

"We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Garden Inn as a family to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The location was highly convenient, especially as we were visiting Waterworld waterpark right next door – it made the whole trip so easy and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were outstanding – extremely professional, polite, friendly and genuinely helpful, which really made the experience special. The hotel itself was spotless, with our room and all areas kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. It was a comfortable, welcoming stay that helped make our celebration extra memorable. We would happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"Excellent service from check in to check out, rooms were big, rooms were serviced everyday and althoigh i didn't have dinner at the hotel the breakfast was excellent. Managed to use the gym, pool and steam room whilst staying at the hotel. When staying in Telford again i will make sure i book again at the Mercure. Very close to shops, restaurants and even a cinema across the road!"

"All the staff were extremely pleasant, smiling, and super friendly and welcoming. Huge credit to the staff member on the front desk who welcomed me as I arrived in the middle of the night to check-in. "

"This is the second time we have stayed at the Bears Paw. booking was easy and Hotels.com very helpful in how to upgrade room. We initially booked a standard room at a very good price especially as it included breakfast, However the standard bedrooms have a shower over the bath and so anyone with mobility issues might find this difficult to access. We paid for an upgrade and what a wonderful Superior room it was. Huge with a long bathroom with bath and a double shower and beautifully soft towels with shower gel body lotion and shampoo. The room was clean with amenities tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits plus bottles of spring water. The bed was large with beautiful and comfortable bedding. wifi on tap! None of this paying for it as happens in the basic hotels. The breakfast buffet was to die for and the serving staff were quick delivering the requested cooked meals. They even found alternative milk. Sadly we could only stay one night but would definitely return. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 * for cleaning was that along the wall in the bathroom were several pieces of stringy material persumably from the mop head, but we would hope the next visit would not include these."

"Overall I would rate this stay excellent. The room and view was lovely. Super clean and appeared to be newly redecorated. My only complaint would be that the following morning our exit from the floor our room on was blocked. Both stairs and lift with no direction on how to get out. Had their been a fire goodness only knows if we’d have had time to find an alternative way out in time. "

"The staff are the stars in this Hotel. Every one of them was pleasant, cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had on one of our frequent overnight stopovers when we make our regular trips from down South to up North. It’s our first time at this hotel but the breakfast really excels in comparison to other hotels in the locality."

"Great place for football lovers. Beautiful building, Spacious and clean. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. There is history, memorabilia and pictures of English football history and current achievements. The spa facilities are awesome and the staff too. No regrets and will definitely return. Just one negative was that our room had a shower but not a bath. I love to have a long hot bath when away but they tried to move us but the alternative rooms weren't suitable for us. Shout out to Finlay, Sarah and Ben who went above and beyond in assistng us with our stay. "
