"Excellent central location right in the heart of ximending.
Professional and attentive staff who go above and beyond for you.
Enjoyed free supply of coffee, tea, and bottles of mineral water.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable and quiet."
"I love this hotel! It's the second time I've stayed there. The rooms are gorgeous, location is excellent, rooftop swimming pool is so special - it's a classic, elegant property. There are a few touches that could use modernizing - ie key cards instead of keys - and the lobby can be crowded due to the many events hosted at the hotel. That said - I love this hotel and would stay there any time I am in Taipei. "
"We had a delightful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Premier Taipei. The service staff were exceptionally polite and helpful throughout our stay.
The room was spacious (in Asian standard) and clean, although the decor could use some updates. It appears to be quite dated.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the hotel amenities, particularly the sauna and soaking pools. They reminded me of a public bath in Japan.
The hotel offers some great dining options, including Chinese and Japanese restaurants, as well as a buffet. Also, its location right across a metro station makes it highly convenient to use public transportation."
"We stayed at the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei in a Grand Deluxe Family Room for seven nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with plenty of space for three friends traveling together. The beds were cozy, and there was ample room for luggage, making it ideal for a longer stay. Everything was clean and relaxing, though the room could use a bit more lighting.
The staff were warm and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they even helped celebrate a birthday with a special treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of local Taiwanese dishes, a noodle bar, Indian and Asian options, and Western selections — all delicious and beautifully presented. The room was also well stocked with bottled water and Nespresso coffee, which we appreciated.
The rooftop pool and hot tub offered incredible city views, and the hotel is connected to a shopping mall, with the Marco Polo Lounge being a great spot for drinks. The location was decent for the metro (about an 8–16 minute walk depending on the line), and getting around by Uber or taxi was very easy. Inside, the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. Some concierge staff were excellent, while others seemed a bit inexperienced when we needed suggestions during six days of heavy rain.
Overall, the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei delivers large rooms, great comfort, and warm hospitality."
