Undoudtedly the best hotel in Chengde, and at first glance it is very confortable and overall well-kept. However, it is a very Chinese hotel and not very international. Staff speak little to no English and the service provided is geared towards a domestic clientele. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't expect anything else. Small details: No slippers, but rubber sandals for the bathroom. No reading light, so it's either full-on ceiling lighting or ... darkness.
