Stayed in a very new, very well appointed room. The food, drinks, and service at the pub and restaurant were excellent.

10/10 Exceptional

The Borough Hotel is a best choice to stay in Lancaster, whether on business or visiting the historic city of Lancaster out of interest. Centrally situated, the Georgian Hotel has a very good restaurant, although the breakfast included offer is not available for third party bookings, such as through Expedia. Still, the very good breakfasts on offer in the Restaurant are not very expensive. The staff are lovely and most helpful. Lancaster is a student city and the young people enhance the vibrant live music availability in the local hostelries of the city. Everything is in easy walking distance, making Lancaster an excellent choice for a short break for the not so young as well as those who also like to potter about the numerous shops and eateries in the commercial streets and arcades adorning the city centre. Of some note is the impressive Georgian architecture which adorns much of the City. Good choice all round.

Very impressed with the size and quality of the room. Very comfortable bed. Great wet room/shower and even a small patio.

Lovely room

A slight problem with the laundry meant that we had to wait until 7.30pm for our bed to be fully made up, however the room was lovely and the homemade shortbread added a nice touch. The bathroom was gorgeous with a big bath plus a walk-in shower.

Spacious, comfortable room

Stayed in the townhouse rooms, very spacious and quiet, lovely bathroom. Couple of little niggles such as worn furniture but nothing to detract from stay. Very large comfortable bed. Breakfast was included which we hadn't realised so that was a bonus. Excellent location for Lancaster.

Odd, my room came straight off the street. Felt nervous and lots of noise

Second time staying on our way to Bristol. Met family eat in restaurant garden. I was a chef. We had 4 brilliant meals. Our room was in the town house. Lovely room downstairs with little courtyard.

Very nice stay in centre of Lancaster.

Very nice stay at the Borough. As it’s an Inn and the check in area is behind the (sometimes very busy) bar area it can be a bit of battle getting through people with your bags. But that is really the only criticism. Room I stayed in was very nice with a very high quality wet room bathroom. Nice in room amenities including premium tea and coffee. Good breakfast and all staff very nice.

Lovely, spacious and comfy stay

We stayed in the Townhouse Luxury suite which is situated in a separate building from the main hotel and accessed from a quiet road to the side. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, bed was huge and very comfy. The pillows and linens were very nice too. Bathroom was also spacious and nicely decorated with a very large shower which was lovely, even if the water pressure wasn't great, the temperature was constant. A full length mirror in the room would have been nice, but otherwise was very happy with our stay.

The room was very clean and well set out. Too hot on our arrival . Had to turn the radiators off.

6/10 Good

Nice hotel if your room isn't above a birthday do

The hotel is in a great location in the town and within a minute's stroll of the main street. The room was spotless, with a huge walk in shower. The beds were comfortable, however, they were very narrow, but that wasn't an issue. We'd had a long day and went up to our room to relax at 8 pm. Unfortunately there was a 30th birthday party in the room below us and, however much we tried to ignore the noise, it was impossible to even hear our television. Perhaps the hotel should take that into consideration when putting guests in rooms 8 or 9.

THE BOROUGH- LANCASTER

The staff at the Borough are young and extremely helpful and polite. I would strongly recommend the hotel.it overlooks a beautiful square. The only points I bring to anyones attention are the following; The rooms are up 2( two) flights of stairs.Although the staff carried my luggage. 2. The shower is all marbled walls and floor it looks smart and it was spotlessly clean. But,no Shower matt. So I found it slippery under foot after showering for 2+.,minutes.. It's a £4 taxi tide from Lancaster Station ( Esst Side) or a 12 minute walk through Lancaster, itself.
