Amazing location

Beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Recently updated, both the room and public spaces were modern and extremely clean. Gym is adequate for a hotel stay and the included breakfast is fantastic. Great service all around. Location is 2 minutes from the train station so easy to carry bags. Highly recommended.

Coronavirus

This hotel exceeded expectations with their warm family style welcome. They make you feel at home and the amenities are first class including a horse and carriage ride to and from the train station.

It was "payable on check out" booking and our credit card about to charge the amount upon checkout. But hotel denied check in to customer saying you need to pay first, even not checked payment terms and mode of payment in their reservation system. Guest disappointed and called me and shouted as he has paid well in advance to us. I called twice to Expedia and request to charge amount right now and not wait for check in or checkout date. Also sent mail 2 times to hotel but they didn't charge amount in advance and mishappening done with the very important guest. Very said and upset. 🙁

A lot of money for a shoebox sized room.

I stayed at the Schweizerhof Zermatt one night. The room was hot, noisy, extremely small, and the floor was dirty. The sheets were rough. I had to leave the window open because it was so hot and stuffy, which unfortunately meant I heard street noise - drunk kids yelling most of the night. I was told that I could control the temperature in my room, which was not true. The bathroom was so small, the door would not open all the way. There was nowhere to put my toiletries. I paid a lot of money for a room that felt like a shoebox. On the other hand, the food in the restaurant was excellent. And the hotel was convenient to the train station.

Newly reopened this is a real gem of a hotel. Centrally positioned, small, warm and very welcoming. The open plan reception, lounge and bar is very cozy and the rooms perfect. Hotel has all you need, ski room, spa, pool and so very friendly and helpful staff. We have visited Zermatt many times, this was the best hotel experience and are go to place next visit. Excellent.

Great location!!!

The location was perfect - right in the middle of town, walking distance from train station, the ski slopes/ tram and restaurants/shops/bars. We rented ski equipment from the hotel ski shop - very convenient to drop off and store equipment until the next day. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We could see the top of the Matterhorn from our room! Exceeded our expectations! Would stay there again!!!
