I had booked the hotel on line and so did not really know what to expect. It is an excellent hotel but was somewhat disappointed that the crisps, nuts and bar of chocolate was an extra cost. Only discovered after consuming but it was not so much the cost but thought that this would be inclusive of the rooms cost which is not cheap.
I was not happy that there was lack of communication between the check out and those that provide the room service. I was given somebody else’s bill for items consumed and it was only when questioning that it was identified. I did still pay for the crisps, nuts and chocolate though!
A nice hotel and highly recommended but look out for the extras to which they allocate £50 in advance

Overnight stay before cruise
Everything first class. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Appreciated our luggage being taken to and from our room. Standard room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Enjoyed using the coffee machine and appreciated the excellent breakfast tea and china teapot. Lovely biscuits and complimentary gin too. Also liked the chocolates and handwritten postcard for my husband's birthday, a nice gesture.
Made full use of the spa facilities the following morning namely the pool, jacuzzi and relaxation room. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Fleeced by General Manager and receptionist.
I am a regular hotel guest at this 5 star hotel and usually spend, as I did on this stay, over £500. On Accommodation and food.
Approximately once or twice per month.
The Harbour Hotel Southampton is a good standard as are all their hotels however their latest General Manager is hell bent on extracting/fleecing money from any guests.
A concierge recently parked my car for me which resulted in an £80 fine which I paid!!
However, the latest surreptitious charge of £40.00 late check out charge has incensed me.
I appealed to the G.Ms intervention on this fraudulent action by a member of his team whom I told categorically not to charge my Amex.
He gave me a waffling answer basically saying, don’t book with Expedia, book directly with us and he would have actioned my complaint.
An amazing response and person to have in charge of such a prestigious hotel.
Check your invoiced charges very carefully.
