Upon arrival from the airport in Rome (hotel arranged car service) we were met with a huge welcoming smile by the owner Loris who quickly unloaded our ton of luggage and took us to his hotel where we were met by another smile and introduced to Ambria who handled getting us all settled in including recommendations for things to do as well as local restaurants. The room was very nice and had a wonderful balcony with a direct ocean view. Please know that if your preference is for large scale chain type hotels, this is not the place for you. This is a spotlessly clean family owned small B&B/Hotel with only a few rooms and service/amenities that go above and beyond what you get at those types of hotels. Everything you could want including being treated like long lost friends, snacks, beverages and an amazing breakfast every day is literally right outside your room door! This is one of the best places we have stayed in our extensive travels!! Thank you again Loris for saving the day with the suitcase situation!!!

First, let's just get out of the way that the immediate impression of the building will have you questioning your choice. The B&B is house in a mixed-use retail/office/residential building, and you will initially wonder if you've made a HUGE mistake. You have not! (And I'm almost hesitant to say so, for fear that upon our return in the future they will be booked full...) This is an absolute GEM of a property, run by Loris (the owner) and his wonderful assistant, Ambra. Simply put, they are amazing. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-appointed. We spent several nights in a 4-star hotel in Rome which fell short of La Casa sul Mare in every respect other than square footage. A well-provisioned kitchen is available 24 hours a day, the in-room amenities are modern, the bathrooms are spotless, the bedding and towels are plush, and there are blackout shades that I'm certain would shield a nuclear blast! Have I mentioned how wonderful the staff is? We are disappointed that only booked one night, and in the future, regardless of our itinerary, we will certainly stay longer. In addition to the complementary pastries, teas, coffee, espresso, and snacks there is a selection of wine, beer, and soda available. (Sparkling water on-tap? Yes, please!) You may stay in more luxurious properties, you may stay in larger properties, but you'll be hard-pressed to locate a better property. Ample restaurants are within a short walk, and you won't be lacking for anything.

Loris and his team were exceptional. They try hard to take care of your every need. 5 rooms surrounding a central kitchen/gathering area. Each room has a deck with a view of the ocean,which is very nice. We had coffee on the deck in the morning and wine in the evening. Breakfast is light but nice. And served with pleasure and passion. Light food is available 24 hours (pastries, juice, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, cereals, crackers, cookies, etc.). The area is older but it is in the heart of old town. Very close to the port. I think 4 of the rooms have en suite baths and one has the bath across a shared hall…not a real problem but a little inconvenient. Rooms are small but well equipped. I highly recommend La Casa Saul Mare!!

This property is nicely, equipped, fully updated, and very comfortable. What makes this property five stars is the people. They take excellent care of all of their guests. They make you comfortable, secure and happy. Many guests return frequently for pre-and post Cruises. They handled our luggage and our transfer and even offered to drive to help return our rental car. If I ever find myself back and Civitecchia, I will certainly stay with these wonderful people.

Loris, Ambra and Rita were the best hosts! They went out of their way to make sure we that have the best stay. They make you feel like family! Every corner of the hotel was spotless all the amenities were well thought out. The location was spot-on especially if you are hopping on a cruise the next day. Casa sul Mare has everything you need and more! We will definitely come back!

Supirior location and fabulous B@B
Absolutely a perfect stay! From the moment our car dropped us off ( greeted by Loris with such a wonderful warm welcoming smile) I was worried as I lost all cell service however, the car service and hotel we left reached out to him! The room and view were superb! The pastry provided, coffee, fruits and wine! All over the top! We were directed to try a local restaurant! Absolutely delicious.

Awesome Place-but request an attached bathroom!
First off, we used their service for transportation from the airport to the hotel and it worked out perfectly, very polite, on time, comparable price, just perfect! The staff here could not have been nicer, they were as sweet as can be and SO helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was just perfect and delicious. The only downside to our stay was to reach out bathroom, we had to leave our room, go through a hallway (which one other room could pass through) and then use a key to enter our private bathroom. It was a bit of an inconvenience in the middle of the night when having to do all that to use the bathroom! However, there are five rooms at this hotel and ours was the only one where the bathroom was separate, so maybe request to not have that one when booking. Other than that, this could not have been a more perfect place to stay, clean, great location and SO friendly and helpful!
