Pretty Decent...But That Water Pressure...
The Alexander Inn was just about perfect for my needs: I was seeing a friend in Philadelphia after almost 15 years and needed to be in that area. It is reasonably priced. The guy at check in was chill and personable. I like the complimentary wine-and-charcuterie event in the lounge from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM each day (I didn't partake, but it's welcoming, just the same). The room was just as I expected, nothing fancy but absolutely functional and comfortable. The ONE area crying out for improvement: WATER PRESSURE. I turned on the shower and thought "Am I being punked?!" It was a sad trickle, so weak that I almost considered going without showers while there, because there's no way that "pressure" could even remove soap or shampoo. Maybe it can be improved, maybe it can't, but guys, let people know ahead of time. It was something you might expect from a one-star, eastern European hostel...not a respectable hotel in downtown Philly.

They canceled my stay without prior notice or acknowledgment, leaving me disappointed. This lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. I would not recommend choosing this place unless it’s an absolute last resort.

Great stay in a lovely mid-range hotel
The Alexander Inn is cute boutique hotel in a great neighborhood in the heart of Center City. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. The Inn is also pet friendly so we were able to bring our small dog with no issue.

We liked it and so did our dog!
This classic hotel is near a lot of wonderful restaurants and shops. It was clean, convenient and the free happy hour was a great way to meet other travelers and wind down. We give it two thumbs up and I think our dog would give it four paws 🐾🐾

Mildew/mold. Tv issue
Honestly, I’m on the fence about this review. I want to like this property but we did have some issues. The biggest issue was the mold/mildew inside and on the air conditioning unit in the room. The room was very warm so we had to turn the ac on. The only other problem we had was with the television. Once we turned it on after returning back to the room fairly late to wind down and get to bed we noticed it did not work.

Maravilhoso!!
O hotel é ótimo, a equipe é maravilhosa, a localização é excelente e o ambiente é extremamente charmoso e acolhedor!! Nós nos sentindo extremamente bem durante a hospedagem. O hotel tem uma social nos finais de tarde, com belisquetes e drinks, que é muito caritativo e agradável. O hotel também disponibiliza água e gelo. Dá para ir para os pontos turísticos mais famosos andando. Enfim, amamos, recomendamos e, se voltarmos à Filadélfia, iremos novamente!!

Clean and neat, good bargain
Very clean and neat. You get what you pay for! Cute, colonial entryway/ lobby with crackling fireplace. Very friendly front desk staff. Bedroom was much smaller than expected and furniture outdated but was clean and had all the needed amenities (shampoos, TV, blinds, closet, iron, hair dryer, mirror.) Only major complaint would be that the water pressure in the shower was terrible.
