I loved the old fashioned decor and the place was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was really nice and there was flexibility within a time frame for when to be served. Just a heads up, there was a small sink in the room but the bathroom and shower was per floor and there was no TV if those are priorities for you. We didn't mind at all but others may find those two things a bit of a put off.

Lovely Bed And Breakfast

Lovely, charming bed and breakfast. Comfortable rooms, location was perfect with walking distance to downtown and close to bike/hiking trails. Beach was also walking distance. Staff was very pleasant and food was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location.

The Sylvan Inn is a comfortable, friendly, and historic bed & breakfast in Glen Arbor, very close to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, and Glen Lake -- an absolutely gorgeous setting for many kinds of outdoor adventures. It's walkable to the shops and restaurants in Glen Arbor, and breakfast was consistently delicious. Great porch for relaxing too, and a convivial place to make new friends while traveling.

Like Visiting your Best Friend

Staying at the Sylvan Inn was like going to your best friend’s house. Our room was cozy and included a sitting area. The Inn’s porch (OMG) was perfect for relaxing with a drink in the evening or eating breakfast. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved our stay! Jim and Laurie are wonderful hosts. They were so attentive to our needs and offered tips on places to park for events and things to do. The house is an historical property but extremely well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. The huge wrap around porch was great for breakfast, quiet reading or chatting with other guests. Located just on the edge of Glen Arbor, it was an easy walk to shopping, dining, and viewing sunsets on the bay. Unique to this week was the 4th of July parade. Unique, goofy, patriotic, and so much fun! Americana at it's best!

The innkeeper was attentive and the inn is centrally located, so it was easy to walk Glen Arbor and enjoy the area. This is a quaint older inn with grace and charm. The wrap-around porch was perfect for morning coffee and a great quiet cozy place to read a book, even when it was raining. Overall, a wonderful respite from our busy life.
