The room was quite small but very adequate and well equipped and very clean. Pool and hot tube area were well maintained and clean. Staff was friendly, and helpful. the beach fires were nice and had a good view of the bridge.

Weekend in Mackinaw City

Nice, quite, family owned and run, place right on the water! The fires on the beach every night at 7:30 are a nice touch! The free shuttle to the Island Ferry picks you at the front office, so don't pay for parking at the Ferry lot like I did :(. Would definitely go back.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times before. Great staff and small but adequate breakfast. The fire pits and smores on the beach at night over looking the Bridge are a great touch!

King suite balcony room was amazing! Perfect view, good sized room. Only knocked down a star on service due to housekeeping not coming though. Complimentary breakfast was great with a lot of options!! Definitely recommend to anyone staying a few nights in Mackinaw.

Front desk suggested if we were going to Mackinaw Island to park at the hotel. Take the shuttle save the parking fee. The room was clean & Bed comfortable. A full breakfast available. Staff Friendly and helpful.

A beautiful view of the landscape and Mackinaw bridge.

Would not recommend

The bathroom was awful. The toilet paper holder was missing and looked like it had been ripped off the wall. The tub/shower was dirty. The bed was uncomfortable. There were no mirrors in the room area. There was a sprinkler head missing in the hall outside our room. The continental breakfast was not very good and the breakfast area was dirty. We would definitely never stay here again.

Beautiful setting. Attentive, friendly staff. Bed felt worn but not too bad. Breakfast was nice....could have had some of the scrambled eggs without bacon bits on top for us non meat eaters.

Very friendly, kind staff. The location was beautiful. Breakfast was nice. The room was adequate. Though the season there is coming to an end, a few things needed attention. Our building hallway had a smell that was hard to ignore. In our room, the bathroom sink pop-up was not set in the drain, sticking up 4-5 " into the sink bowl. The toilet paper holder had come off the wall and was not replaced/repaired. Lastly, we checked out a day early, eating the cost of the second night, partly because there were just too many spiders covering the outside of the building...and I do mean covering.

Buyer beware.

The reviews and photos looked good but when you arrive it’s clear you’re not getting what you think you are. The photos are misleading. The room was small and over due for an updating. It was also very musty and muggy in the room. The bathroom was so small I fell trying to just get in and out. My upstairs neighbors decided 6:30am was good time to march back and forth for an hour so I had to stay awake wondering what they could possibly be doing. We both had breathing issues the next day to the point I booked a room at a different hotel and just ate it on the cost of our second night at this place rather than be punished again. Many people may find this place good and charming and that’s good for them. For us, no thank you.

Pit Stop

We needed a pit stop in Mackinaw City and chose Clearwater. Its location is perfect. The view of the Bridge and Lake Huron is spectacular.

Our stay was convenient to the downtown area and the pier for the ferry to the island. And each evening had fires in the fire pits and provided s’mores The only thing I would like to suggest for this property is maybe provide a place to park bikes during stays. Bike racks would be great for guests that are most likely going to the island and taking their own bikes.

The staff is A+

The staff was extremely helpful for all that we needed. There is a complimentary breakfast offered, but seating at the breakfast serving location is limited and rather cold. We suggest taking items back to your room to enjoy them comfortably.
