I've been to many five star properties around the globe, but few have truly taken my breath away the way Binh An did. If you read other reviews you will see the word "immaculate" come up a lot, which is the only word I can find to describe this hotel. There is not a single flower or blade of grass out of order in the impeccably groomed ground. The villas are a faithful reenactment of French colonial style, and set against the Dalat landscape is truly picture perfect. The room is also tastefully appointed, although the design is a bit strange (no toilet door, no bath tub but have a huge walkin closet which I think is a waste of space), and the AV system can be a challenge.
However, service can really be hit or miss. I called around 6pm to inquire about laundry service - receptionist told me she would get back to me but never did. There was never anything outrageously bad, but a lot of small hiccups here and there (missing towel, corridor light was not turned on, kayak person disappeared, etc.) that prevent me from rating this 5 stars.
The resort is also a bit further away from city center and many other points of interest. It has a shuttle service, and if there are not too many guests can be quite flexible as to pickup times and locations. Taxis are around 5 - 8 USD each way, not a lot, but can add up fast. If you're thinking of riding a motorbike, be aware that there's a 6 km of mountain road that's not lit at night - can be quite dangerous or unnerving to a lot of people.
