Under construction
Entrance was blocked by plastic sheeting with no directions how to get to check in. After entering a side door the building looked abandoned . After walking down two flights of stairs and a long hall I finally found the registration. We were given a room on the 2nd floor at the end of the hall with no elevator. The room had construction going on outside on two sides of our room. Fortunately it was close to their quitting time but early the next morning we were awakened by worker singing, drills and plywood being thrown. On check out I did suggest they not place guest in that room.

Nothing like the picture, actually we were very surprised that the rooms were upgraded with wood floors. Beds very nice as well. Very clean. Great atmosphere!

The lodge’s bedrooms were quite acceptable, downside is there is no door to bathroom toilet area. No privacy from other guests in the room. The website hours were different to the tavern’s opening hours; no food available between 1:30 and 4pm. The food in the Tavern restaurant is not good; service is exceptionally slow. We waited 30 mins for the drinks order and over an hour and a half for food. Advice is not to eat there as the service, food and prices are not good. The prices are way too high for what you get!

We just stayed there during Christmas. We enjoyed it! The views of the creek and mountains were beautiful! There was construction in the lodge area, but it was okay; we had no issues with it since we spent our days out. I did wish the shuttle service and amenities were available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so we could take advantage of them, but we couldn't, so we went into town. Breakfast was disappointing, that is the area they need to improve. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and I'm sure after the renovations, it's going to look even better. We will be back!

Go!!!
This was a spur of the moment stay on our way back to NC. The place was nestle in the Mountains. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable, and staff were very friendly. It is within 10 minutes of Downtown Helen, Ga. I highly recommend. We can’t wait to go back!

I liked that is in the woods and quiet but I did not like that the upstairs rooms are not easily accessible and I didn’t know there were no elevators until we arrived. I had a lady with me who does not do stairs well, she is older and is in remission from cancer so it was a challenge. Parking is far away from the rooms. I thought there was breakfast included but was told it was $13.95 per person. For the price and the difficulty getting in and out I would not stay there again.

Room walls are thin, could hear people talking in the next room. Walk ways to the building my room was in NO LIGHTS! Used my cell phone to see where to walk. It's not repeat business from me!
