Lovely property close to Lake Taupo and Nat Park
We loved the staff. Very kind and the restaurant is awesome!! Our room was funky. The bath sink won't open so it fills with junk and slowly drains...slowly. They need a plumber in room 12. The property is lovely. The location is super. It's a favorite hotel for a construction company so the trucks in the parking lot make it tough to maneuver. Turangi is a great launch spot for the National Park which is why we picked it. I would return to the area at Lake Taupo as it is a great spot on the lake for fishing and enjoying the lake coast. The actual room has a shared deck, used by others to get to their rooms. We faced a large lawn in the morning. Lovely bird activity in the early am. Other that a dissappointing plumbing issue we actually attempted to fix, to let the bath sink drain, it was pretty cool. I will go back to the nice restaurant, but not sure about the room. Gotta have decent plumbing, It wasnt very clean..

We chose this motel for its proximity to Tongariro National Park. It is rather old and worn in terms of furniture and kitchen/bath fixtures, but it had everything we needed, and there were a few unexpected extras like a fan (no AC), hair dryer, and heated mattress pad (did not use). Was also convenient to town about 1/3 mi away. Screens would have been nice in the windows, and parking lot is very tight (painted lines might help) with people randomly parking poorly. The restaurant was not open during our stay. There is a small hut right outside the parking lot available for coffee/breakfast but we left before 7 am when they opened each day.

Housekeeping needs work. Door locking issues which were unable to be remedied during our stay due to Xmas close down. Sofas in need of updating. Good kitchen facilities. Good shower. Comfy beds.

The beds were fine. Could have had a deeper clean of the skirting boards, and drawers. Net curtains need to be replaced asap. Restaurant had good food.

Mould around windows, curtains needed to have hooks renewed, alot not hooked on track , tear in net curtain, stains on carpet, wall by table been damaged by chair back, needs board there to stop that. I took photos because it was not good enough.
