Reasonably convenient for the station, but not an attractive area of the city. Carpet on my floor’s corridor was threadbare and badly stained. Absolutely tiny bathroom with badly outdated fittings and a very big step up required to get in. Bed is rock hard by Western standards (and by the standards of other Japanese hotels I’ve stayed in) and had not been properly made. Laundry is on the smoking floor – why?
On the plus side, free breakfast and curry dinner is welcome, and front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

Close to everything
Staff were lovely and the hotel is close to everything. Unfortunately some of the linen was a little dirty and the smell of cigarette is throughout the building. We had to block the door at night to stop the smell coming in but this is us just having to adjust to the hotels relaxed smoking rules.

Good value hotel
Not really that much to excite in Hamamatsu, but the music instrument museum was way more interesting than we thought it would be. Hotel was pretty good. They have free curry rice in the evening, and both Japanese and western items for breakfast.

Cheap but uncomfortable
We stayed in many hotel rooms during our vacation--this one by far was the smallest and most uncomfortable. I had to check out the next night. I checked out w/out even setting up a new hotel--that's how much I couldn't stand this one. The bed was harder than the floor. Granted, we had previously slept on futons on the floor and were quite comfortable w/ that. When we woke up from the bed in this hotel, we had aches and pains.
I will say they do offer a good complimentary breakfast and they also offer free curry dinner every night. If you are dead broke and don't want to sleep on the streets and you've been camping and are used to horrible surfaces, you may survive this. I had to go.

Did they job very well
The staff were lovely and assisted as much as they could, some English as well.
The breakfast was a surprise as it was far beyond what we expected. A curry choice, as well as, salad, croissants, coffee etc all included in the price.
Rooms was basic but sufficient, although wifi was dodgey which was only downside.

It's OK
Stayed over for a 1 night stay during our stopover in Shizuoka while we visited Kakegawa and Makinohara. There's not too much selection in Hamamatsu but this one fit the budget. It's a little on the old side but in relatively good condition. There is no WiFi, just wired internet. Close to the JR Hamamatsu station. The free breakfast was OK but not glamourous. One thing - they will charge you 1800 yen if you have a second person in the room. Overall, it was fairly expensive for what we got, as I booked hotels in Tokyo that were much nicer as well as cheaper.
