Check in was unwelcoming and arduous to interact with. The allocated room was smelling of cigarette smoke despite our purposeful call and request for a non-smoking room due to a high allergen.
An intermittent, squealing noise emanating from the air conditioner or return vent. Exhausted and unable to ignore the noise, which became increasingly, torturingly frequent and persisted for over 8 minutes.
4.30am attempted to call reception from the in-house Phone three times and then from my mobile 4.45am and 4.47am eventually making contact with reception explaining the situation.
5am A new Room was allocated to us, the room was uncomfortably hot from not having the Aircon running, but at least it was not squealing.
Unfortunately, due to the series of events the pre paid and booked breakfast that we had prepared for this morning was had to be made redundant as our time was taken up with no sleep and sheer exhaustion also causing us to pay for out of pocket street car parking we otherwise would not have had to. Reception informed there would be a refund for breakfast paid for & not being able to be used with confirming email.
This DID NOT occur. 11.55pm arrived to new allocated Room looking forward to relaxing nights rest with air conditioner we purposely left on 18.5 degrees from morning. Only to find the room was NOT serviced at all,beds not made, milk,towels not replenished but instead to our amazement &disgust someone instead entered room to turn off air con on 38 degree day!!
