We absolutely loved our stay at Sawadi. It is a ways outside Skoura, 10 minutes or more on a small back road, which puts it in a remote but very lovely, very quiet area surrounded by olive groves and fields, with a view of the distant snow covered mountains (for our April stay). The rooms are nicely sized, with great bathrooms and ours had a spacious roof terrace as well (I think most do). The architecture and decor are incredibly well done and interesting, not only in the bedrooms but also in the dining room and other common rooms - at once elegant and relaxed and comfortable and full of charm. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The pool was closed during our April visit but looks very nice and well maintained. Every one of the small staff was friendly, helpful and competent.
A big unexpected plus was the food. The included breakfast has many options and everything we tasted was home made and delicious. Dinner is not included, but the price is reasonable and is NOT to be missed. It was easily the best meal we had during our entire time in Morocco.
The owners of this place have tried hard to make it a special haven, and for us, they completely succeeded. They are friendly, quickly stepped in to help us with travel issues we had, and couldn't have been nicer. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to any traveler. After a staying in Marrakech for a week, this hotel was a welcome oasis of quietude, beauty and friendliness.
