My husband and I chose to stay at the Wave to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. It is a beautifully renovated hotel in a perfect location and a wonderful staff.
With that being said, there were a few details I wish I'd noticed before we booked. First, the restaurant and bar are not open on Monday and Tuesday. It was an extremely hot couple day stay, so we would have liked to order refreshments, especially as we sat around the pool, taking advantageof the extra "$50 resort fee". The manager stated that the restaurant will be open more days in July as the lake season picks up. Also, there isn't a coffee maker in the room. Since the hotel doesn't have continental breakfast, I wished I had this staple convenience.
Also, it seemed like the hotel staff struggled to keep up with a busy weekend turnover. The manager apologized and accommodated us with eagerness and grace when our room was not ready at check-in time.
