Hotel Roma Stay

A budget hotel, but everything was above standard, apart from the very basic breakfast. Room was very clean and A/C worked really well. Would highly recommended other travellers. Close to the railway station and easy walk to centre of the city. The only let down is there is no bag store and reception not manned throughout the day. But…..that said you have a great hotel for a great price.

Very good location, close to attractions , restaurants and shopping. Staff was very Nice, fresh breakfast and spacious and clean room. Perfect for us which run the marathon, about 1.5 km to start and 600 m from arrival. Highly recommend!

I found the staff at the Roma Hotel to be very nice, and the coffee served here is excellent. The location is also fairly good, which is definitely a positive. I also appreciate that it appears to be a family-run place, which I generally prefer to support over large chain hotels. Unfortunately, everything else is downhill from there. The pictures online must have been taken many years ago, as the reality is very different. The lift is covered in graffiti, my bed was uncomfortable, and the furniture in the bedroom was falling apart. The bathroom had a hole in the wall and gave off a strong mildew smell, making the stay unpleasant. It’s clear this hotel hasn’t had any meaningful investment in recent years. While I wanted to like it because of the people and the family-owned feel, the overall condition made it very disappointing.

The hotel is super close to the train station (about a 3-5 minute walk) and easy walking distance from the center of Ravenna. Front desk closed from 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday and we were not informed of this. As a result we arrived in a taxi at 2:00 to find the door locked. By chance, we ran into one of the kitchen staff leaving the premises. He let us in, otherwise we would have been stranded on the sidewalk with two large suitcases. Very unprofessional!

The area looked abit sketchy at first but was ok once you walked around abit. It is within walking distances of all of the sights and the bus/trains.

Hotel, Roma… Friendly convenient.

The Roma hotel is conveniently located to both the bus and train stations. I was also able to walk to all of the major tourist sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good. I had my best café Americano here made by Alejandro. My main reservation about this hotel is the fact that the bathroom is very small, even though I’m not an oversize person.
