we stayed for only the overnight, nothing remarkable but exactly what we needed. felt safe and was in a good location, held our bags. a bit confusing with the restaurant doing the customer services for the hotel. we had a late check in and the restaurant people were lovely, great included breakfast. responsive on messaging so that was great!

Nao satisfatório

Não gostamos da experiência . Nosso voo atrasou e chegamos no hotel após por volta de 1:00 am . O hotel estava fechado pois o check in seria até as 24:00. Após telefonar , nos passaram um código para abrir a portaria . Em seguida , quando entramos o elevador não funcionava. Éramos 4 pessoas com 2 malas e 1 mochila cada um. Foi cansativo subir 2 andares sem elevador após uma viagem exaustiva. No dia seguinte fomos informadas que o check out seria às 10:00, ou seja , não descansamos nada. Tivemos que sair do prédio, ir para o prédio anexo onde era servido o café continental para deixar nossas malas no restaurante até a hora do nosso próximo voo que seria às 19:00. Resumindo, escolhemos esse hotel para descansar entre uma viagem e outra e saímos mais cansadas do que quando chegamos. Fica a dica

The hotel is well-located in the Plaka district of Athens - maybe five blocks from the entrance to the Acropolis. The room was very clean and comfortable and it had wonderful air conditioning. The temps in Athens were hotter than expected - topping out at 38 C - so it was great to come home to a cool and comfortable room. While the hotel is located on a square with a number of restaurants, I was on an upper floor and experienced very little crowd noise. It was easy to travel from the hotel to Syntagma Metro station for some of the little day trips I had planned. My only complaint was the WiFi available. The signal never seemed very strong and often the WiFi would just cut out in the middle of a task I was trying to complete. Fortunately, the restaurants in the area had great WiFi so I would save tasks until I was eating. The hotel has no elevator. My room was up two flights of stairs and I did not find climbing stairs to be much of a problem. The bathroom had a large shower and the toiletries all had excellent scent. All in all, I had a great vacation stay!

Check-In confusing

I was never sent instructions on how to check in so it was very confusing. There was no check in desk, only a locked door. I texted and someone finally came to let me in. My biggest complaint was there was no way to lock the door from inside so I didn’t feel totally safe.

A nice little hotel located in the middle of Plaka with restaurants right outside the door. Very nice breakfast. Clean and tidy rooms. However, if you value the opportunity to sleep well, choose another hotel, at least until you really verify that the problems with the digital door locks are sorted out. As it was now and apparently has been for a while, the locks beep quite frequently throughout the nights and it doesn't sound a bit... I pointed out the rust with the locks but nothing was solved when we were there. It is of course sensitive in such an old house but I can buy that.

Plaka hotel that is below expectations

Awesome location. The hotel was next to the restaurant, which is where the check in was located. No hotel lobby. The room was okay but the bed was not comfortable. The shower does not work. We stayed in 2 rooms and both rooms had the same shower problem. I reported it but it was never fixed. The included breakfast was not good. I had the Mediterranean Omelette and it was not good. You want to stay in plaxa but this place is not good.

Beep beep we didn’t sleep

Our stay at this place was awful. The first night, we discovered that our keypad was acting funny, beeping every 10-60 minutes (no rhyme or reason on the timing). Now, you don’t need a keypad for the rooms. You get a key. Rather than just disconnect the thing, staff tried to manage it somehow by “disabling,” fiddling with it…everything to avoid disconnecting it. Imagine trying to fall asleep, knowing you’ll hear three shrill beeps from just outside your room. The second night, it continued. I messaged them up until nearly 1am, at which point the power went out. At least the beeping stopped, but that meant the AC did, too, and guests came out of their rooms to investigate for the next hour. It was two sleepless nights. On top of all that, WiFi was nonexistent (it just didn’t function the first night, and the second it was in and out that it was essentially useless). I don’t demand internet when I know I’m going somewhere exotic, but this is a major city where we didn’t have issues at other establishments. The beds are awful, too. We felt every spring. Pros: The location is great, and they’ll store your bags on a late night. Breakfast is included…but that’s true for many properties in the area.

Great Location, Lovely Staff & Breakfast

We only stopped here for a few days but the room was lovely with a large balcony which we made full use of and a complimentary bottle of wine when we arrived. The breakfasts which were included with our room were good and you had a choice from the entire menu.

Our stay here couldn’t have been more perfect! The room and bathroom were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The check in process was easy and quick and it was so nice that our room was only on the second floor. Other reviews have mentioned some noise at night and there was some, but with the AC on we didn’t have any issues sleeping. I’ve stayed at a more expensive hotel nearby and this one was so much better. The location can’t be beat either.

RARE GEM in ATHENS The hotel is situated in a safe, affluent, and peaceful neighborhood in Plaka. There are an incredible number of dining options nearby. Its close proximity to major archaeological sites is a significant advantage. Breakfast is served in a charming building next door. The staff are friendly and professional. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return!

The main benefit of the hotel is the direct accessibility to Plaka and Anafiotika. Situated in a lovely little plaza with tons of restaurants and shopping streets, right next to the famous bar Brettos. Staff was lovely and accommodated us as we arrived early. They kept our luggage until the room was ready and they always try to make the room available around noon which is very nice. They are attached to a restaurant that has a good view of the Acropolis. Good breakfast too.
