Amazing hotel! I got a free upgrade and the room was so beautiful! Comfortable bed and beautiful decor. The room was very quiet and there was no street noise! I will stay here again for sure!

Nice Hotel, poor air conditioning

Central location, and good enough sized room for short weekend stay. However, air conditioning was fan only and made being in the room at any point including at night largely uncomfortable.

Hotel was fabulous and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We visited for my mum’s birthday and they went out of their way to make it special. The rooms are fairly compact but spotlessly clean, modern and cosy. Will definitely stay again.

Nice, but very small room.

Stayed for 4 nights. Incredibly small rooms for the price. Nice staff and otherwise comfortable but you can’t even shower without wetting the hallway. It’s so damn small. For clarity- I opted for the small room. But have done so before and it was not that small.

We have stayed at this hotel several times now, it is tastefully decorated and the rooms are modern and functional. The location between the main train station and the old town is ideal and surprisingly quiet. You can park your car in a nearby Q-Park parking garage for 13.50 euros per day, which is really cheap by Düsseldorf standards, but you should definitely book online in advance, because parking there is really difficult. We would check in again at any time

Everything was really good. Especially how I got welcome by the Receptionist. I had very welcomed experience. The room are very cute and clean. Just a bit noisy. Will definitely come back .

Checked in and didn’t come back till 5am but what I got of the hotel was great! Free pool table downstairs, record player and tunes in the room and also a small basketball net. Which I found pretty cool

30 Euro charge on pet for nothing.

Its the second time I stayed in Max Brown. Overall I like the hotel since it is closed to center and in a nice area. Facility is clean and with nice decoration. Main problem during my stay is they cherged me 30 Euro (15 a day) for bringing my pet. In the previous stay this charge is because they give you a bed for the dog and some treats and plates to feed them and give them water. I asked the staf multiple times for this service they told me that they would bring it to the room. Unfortunately after several tries they never brought the bed or treats to the room. I am really dissapointed that even we ask for the bed and treats and we pay 30 Euro they did not do anything about it.

There are plenty of things to like about the property, including the staff, decor and location. The price as advertised, however, is for a very small and non-air conditioned double room without breakfast. To change our booking to a twin, there was an extra surcharge of EUR 20 per night, and to add breakfast would have incurred a similar charge. The hotel itself is quiet but the area was very noisy; we visited in August and with the window open, it was hard to sleep. I also sensed they had some issue with cleaning - our room was not clean by check-in at 3, meaning a 45 minute wait on arrival, and while wet towels were removed, they were not replaced. That being said, cleanliness was not an issue. I also have to agree that some of the decor is ageing, but the overall feel had much more character than a normal hotel, and the bedding was lovely. The location is fine - close to the train station yet quieter and safer than just outside of it, and there are a range of places to eat within 10 minutes by foot. Overall, I think it offered a bit of luxury at a decent price (and the reception team were great), but if visiting during the warmer months, I'd suggest packing earplugs.

So you want to know if I'd stay here again, yes I would. The staff were very helpful. The area is 6 minutes walk to a large shopping street---shadowstrasse and had some great transport links. The food in the surrounding area of Little Tokyo is delicious and the room was fun and quirky. However!!! Although I didn't miss the ability to have room service I would have liked a mini fridge. The room was incredibly hot, even with the ceiling fan on all the time . When I asked the staff quickly found me a second room fan. A mini fridge would've allowed us to keep cold drinks and even some snacks. Although there's shampoo, body, hand wash and lotion there was no conditioner. Plus you couldn't remove the bottles making it difficult if you were bathing rather than showering. The towels were too small to fit round me and bath sheet would've been much more useful as we were sharing a twin room. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom. There was a hairdryer. The television wasn't a smart tv and so I couldn't log into my own accounts so there was only German tv. The remote control was filthy. The rug in the room needed replaced. Unless it was part of the shabby chic design.

Wir haben eine Nacht im Max Brown Hotel Düsseldorf verbracht und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Das Hotel hebt sich durch seinen individuellen Stil und eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre vom üblichen Ketten-Standard ab. Die Lobby ist modern, stylisch und lädt mit einem Billardtisch und vielen liebevollen Details zum Verweilen ein. Das Design zieht sich durch das ganze Haus – vom Flur bis ins Zimmer. Der Service war top: freundlich, hilfsbereit und lösungsorientiert. Wünsche wurden ernst genommen, Probleme direkt angegangen. So soll es sein. Unser Zimmer war geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sauber und mit viel Charakter. Man merkt, dass hier Wert auf Details gelegt wird – kein typisches 0815-Zimmer. Das Bad ist klein, aber funktional und ebenfalls sauber. Die Fotos zeigen das Zimmer nach Nutzung – der gute Zustand war bei Check-in gegeben. Wichtig zu wissen: Bei 38 °C Außentemperatur war das Zimmer unangenehm warm, da keine Klimaanlage vorhanden ist. Es gab einen Ventilator, aber der reicht bei solchen Temperaturen nicht aus. Uns wurde gesagt, dass eine Lösung in Arbeit ist – derzeit sollte man das bei einer Sommerbuchung einkalkulieren. Zum Frühstück können wir nichts sagen, da wir es nicht genutzt haben. Fazit: Sehr stilvolles Boutique-Hotel Zentrale Lage Top Service Saubere, individuelle Zimmer – Kein AC, bei Hitze klarer Schwachpunkt Wer auf Design, Atmosphäre und freundlichen Service Wert legt, ist hier richtig – aber im Hochsommer besser vorher über die Raumtemperatur

The hotel has a fun theme. Unfortunately the record player in our room was broken and the staff weren't able to fix it during our 2 night stay. There's no air conditioning, which was a bit rough with the summer heat. The room was also quite cramped, which made it feel stuffier. We made do with the ceiling fan at least. The location is very convenient to shopping and restaurants and is only about 10-15m walking from the main train station.

sehr positiv waren die tollen Spa Produkte von Zenology wie Shampoo, Duschbad- klasse, auch die Betten top und sehr schön weich. Personal zumeist freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit, am Zimmercomfort könnte einiges überarbeitet werden-total ungeputzte Messingarmaturen, warum Teppich? und der vom Format so gar nicht reinpasst? der Badspiegel quasi unbrauchbar... auf den ersten Blick sehr schöne Retro Optik aber die Funktion insgesamt nicht so dolle... bemängelte Dinge wie unbrauchbarer Fön und Plattenspieler wurden von der sehr netten Managerin sofort behoben- danke dafür.

Got a room on the fifth floor just by the elevator. Really nice and spacious room. Love the retro touch to it. Really central, can walk everywhere and just a 10min walk from the central station.
