Basic happy place

This is an older facility, kept clean, with comfortable beds and bedding. The staff was excellent and friendly. Facilities are basic, breakfast is basic fare (with hot coffee!), and be sure to get a first floor room if you can’t manage your luggage upstairs. We were happy to be in 2nd floor, a bit away from road noise. Hotel is within walking distance of historic village and riverside park, as well as plenty of eating options, fast food or otherwise.

Don't stay here!!!

This place should be demolished. The room smelled like onions and/or maybe old pizza? The carpet and furniture were filthy along with the lampshades. Didn't want to touch anything. The shower didn't drain. The towels are so thin you can see through them. The fridge freezer was so frosted up you couldn't fit anything in if you wanted to. The "breakfast" was a joke. The coffee tasted terrible. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! Booked it sight unseen with a non refundable rate, otherwise we never would have stayed there.

Hotel needs closed down!

The hotel was very old and outdated. The room smelled very bad. Staines all over the carpet and the chair and ottoman was covered in staines. There was stuff on the walls that looked like dried food. The bathroom was grose. It had rust stains from bad water all along the base board under the toilet. There was a small refrigerator in the room that did not work. I went down to get coffee in the morning and the breakfast was only cereal and a couple packets of oatmeal. NOTHING ELSE. I was suppose to stay 2 nights and i couldnt stand it. We left after one stay.

Visitors from Pennsylvania

We visit the area about once a year and have stayed in this motel at least 10 nights in the past 8 - 10 years. We stay here because the price is "right" and there are restaurants we like close by. We are generally "passing through". This is the first time we were disappointed in the facilities. The bathroom (primarily the bath) were moderately clean and there was no soap or shampoo provided. The next time we pass through the area, we might stay, here, but we are not sure.

Perfectly adequate - a good bargain!

I was in Ann Arbor one evening and in Toledo the next day, so Dundee was exactly halfway in-between. The American Inn and Suites is nothing fancy, but for the price (low $50), it was just fine. The room was outdated, but the bed was comfy and I slept like a log. Wi-fi worked well, good shower pressure. Not much of a breakfast offered (nearby restaurants fill that bill), but the 24-hour coffee was good. No complaints for what I paid; I would stay here again under the same circumstances.
