Unfortunately the check in staff were not familiar with gift vouchers. The hotel was booked via the internet. On arrival a voucher for the full amount of the stay was handed over as payment, however the lady in reception said that she could not accept this voucher as the hotel was not booked through their own website. Therefore payment had to be made by card and the voucher could not be used. After making a call to the hotel’s head office it appears as though the hotel staff were incorrect and the voucher should have been accepted. A refund was then made onto the payment card but was told could take 3-5 days. Considering the person checking in was only 19 and not from Sweden, and the hotel stay cost him all his shopping money, well that’s not acceptable. No compensation has been made yet either, barely got a ‘sorry’.. This was always our go to hotel but after this weekend, I’m not so sure anymore!
