I have been in this property three times now and we love this place but there are few things that I must mention, check in was very lengthy process and badly organized, In room service wasn’t free which is very strange since one needs to have food inside time to time and should be free, The swimming pools were dirty and I never saw anyone cleaning them even at night and you could see lots of derbies on the floor, the flooring in the complex and rooms were very clean but it had some oily mopping done on the surface which made it slippery and dangerous. I am sure the hotel managers will take care of these points and I will go back again too.

Buffet was the same food every night, chairs at the beach need replaced, they were torn and stained. Could only make reservations for specialty restaurants for 9:00 or later and that was on the day we got in, heard people say they made reservations week before they got there. Only received the better booze when we asked for it, use to be at the palace that is what you would get, palace has always been where we stayed but it needs upgrades, won’t go back there for a long time or until things change

Staying at this resort feels like a separate small city. I walked around the entire Barcelo Maya place, a total of 3 miles. Plenty of dining options. The water is very calm, the reefs break down the bigger waves.

The property was huge, walking from my room to get to the lobby and other main areas was exhausting. There needs to be more shuttles for guests. One of the pipes in my room was broken, seemed to have been broken for a while. There was alot of condensation in the room, hence the floor was always wet (bring bed room slippers). The seafood restaurant was the best dining experience I had on the visit the food was great.

Checking in we’re waiting three hours and a half. It’s my first time we waiting too long for a check-in. They have only two people in the lobby the people they are really helpful. People work at the bar they’re not nice definitely I’m not coming back to the hotel.

We stayed at the Adults Only in the Barcelo Riviera. The only place to get a drink in the hotel was the hotel bar. The bartenders at the pool bar were just ok. They kept telling us we couldn’t get any shots but then they would serve other people shots. This was at both pool bars. It was nice and quiet. Transportation was nice. There were no dehumidifiers. Rooms were musty and humid. I’d probably stay somewhere else next time.

We just celebrated our daughter’s wedding there Oct 14 2024 . Big mistake ! The hotel its really nice. The wedding planer horrible ,she forgot to schedule the rehearsal diner, forgot to schedule the massage the day after the wedding . She was horrible answering E mails .Wouldn’t recommend this place for a destination wedding. We brought our owned decorations the day of the wedding we had to carry our own stuff and do our own decorations. This was our fourth time going there . Wouldn’t go back !!!!!

The property is beautiful! However our check in experience was horrible! There was a long line when we arrived and not sure what the problem was with everyone’s reservations but it seemed to take forever for each person to check in. We waited for almost two hours until it was our turn. Once we were up, our check in went smoothly. But we wasted a lot of our time the first day there. Was bummed that a la carte restaurants had a pants policy for men. At other resorts we’ve stayed shorts and closed shoes with nice shirts were fine. Thankfully, the buffets had a lot of delicious options. Also was surprised there was no poolside food service. There are drinks but you mostly have to go to the swim up bar to get your drinks as there isn’t enough staff walking around serving drinks around the pool. The beach was beautiful! Our room was clean and comfortable and the buffet staff were phenomenal!

This resort was beautiful and kid friendly. Rooms are nice and the greenery was beautiful. Food was only ok. Meat at the restaurants and buffet was extremely over cooked and tough each day, desserts like cake and brownies were dry but the service was excellent.
