In Need of Updating
To be fair, this trip has reinforced we are not resort people. The service was impersonal and the crowd was very family oriented. The food was good and the room was fine. I think the main drawback was the dated age of the property and the worn condition of the furniture, towels, beach shoes etc.

Big resort on Western coast
Big resort with restaurant, bar, pool and other facilities. Gardens are scrupulously looked after. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The pool was closed for a few days because guests (or parents of guests) cannot behave properly. The beach is a great plus.

Broken sliding door on ground floor unit.
We stayed one night and the sliding door on our ground floor room had a broken lock. Could not secure valuables or feel safe. The front desk said they would send someone to fix it. The guy brought a thin bamboo stick that he broke on his knee which did not secure the door. Front desk said that since we were only staying one night they would not give us another room, even though we had not used the room. We noticed the broken sliding door as soon as we left called in the room and notified them. Horrible experience.

our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids 9 and 8yrs old had a lovely stay at the edgewater. The staff are super friendly and helpful..we had a car so handy location to town and activities..facilities are a little dated and the food not the best but we ventured out most days so not a major issue. Kids enjoyed the activities run by the pool and made lots of friends!

The experience for a resort was very underwhelming. The staff werent very forthcoming with help, the food in the buffet was definitely not worth $60 a head. Staff never approached us in the dining restaurant to ask if we needed anything. We had to carry our own bags from our room all the way at the back of the resort to reception on check out even after calling for support and my Mum is 73 so that was rough. Not a very enjoyable stay unfortunately.

We were staying in a recently renovated room, which was lovely. The property improvements since our last stay looked really good. Everything about The Edgewater was very good, the staff were all lovely. This was our fourth stay here, as Coral Club members we missed out on some of the benefits we were entitled to which was a little disappointing and why I have marked down a star. Other than that I would definitely recommend.

This was our third time to Rarotonga and second stay at The Edgewater. The staff are always great and the property is fine for what we wanted with a big spacious room and deck overlooking the gardens (one up from the entry level room). There is good snorkelling right off the bench and the property is close to town. We aren't the kind of people that spend much time where we're staying and were out exploring most the time, just coming back to sleep. It can be a little noisy with the roosters (but that's Rarotonga lol) and if you were close to the pool area. We saw whales everyday (mid October) from the hotel restaurant.
