Place to stay in the old city of Cartagena.
We stayed 3 nights at Voila Centro Historico. The hotel was great, in the old city, walking distance to everything. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was very good. Definitely recommended.

Great location which could use some minor updates
The Voilá is an average hotel with an amazing location. The service from the front desk and bar was excellent. It is right in the center of the Cartagena action and gave us access to many restaurants and attractions. However, the room needs some re-vamping and updating. There were water spots in some parts of the walls. The noise from other rooms and the elevator was also a factor which reduced our comfort.

Short stay in Cartagena
Hotel was at a great location, room is large and in good shape. Staff everywhere were great. Elevator works very well for an old building. A few items: Cleaning is not thorough. Our safe didn’t work for the whole time and had to call them to manually open it on a daily basis. Breakfast is good but limited options and things mostly run out quick.

Doesn’t have a working phone number
The hotel was nice enough for the area. Although we got the larger King Room which is still pretty small. Our problem wasn’t with the property itself. El Centro is super fun for a couple days but the area incredibly busy and not much to do other than eat at restaurants and drink at bars. We requested to cancel the reservation on day two of eight so that we could move another resort with beach access that wasn’t stuffed into the walled city. I was fully willing to pay for an extra night or two so that we weren’t canceling less than 24 hours in advance. I talked to the front desk who said it was fine I just needed to cancel with Expedia. Expedia said the policy was for no refund after check in. However, Expedia has always been good about just calling the hotel and they normally waive any fees and refund unused nights. This wasn’t the case, Voila doesn’t have an operational phone number. They have a What’s App but Expedia refuses to call through what’s app. It was incredibly disappointing that Voila is part of the Hotels.com network yet they don’t have a phone number. I’m not sure how that one slipped through the cracks… We ended up booking at a Hilton Resort on Bocogrande that was 1,000 times better. Still no word on a refund for the rest of our stay at Voila.

Bra hotell i gamla Cartagena.
Voilá ligger väldigt bra i gamla stan om du vill bo den delen av stan. Fin gammal miljö, mycket restauranger i närheten och fullt folkliv. Trevlig liten takterass med några solstolar och två små bassänger. Det är också där frukosten serveras.

Excellent stay
Excellent place, very convenient location, staff is amazing, service amazing highly recommend it. Just note it is a busy area and has some working ladies outside walking the streets regularly. They don’t bother you and they didn’t bother us so it was fine.

The hotel is very well designed, clean and modern. Hotel staff is friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommend this hotel in terms of cost benefit. The location is very strategic for entering and exiting the walled city which can have heavy traffic at times. One issue that the property has is when it rains the rooftop floods where breakfast is served. Overall a great hotel. I will definitely stay there again.
