2/10 Poor

Didn’t even spend the night
I noticed right when I pulled up that it didn’t look half as nice as the pictures. No one was at the front desk and they just left the key on the counter with my name on a sign next to it. The window was open in the room, saw hair on the toilet and toilet paper, there were squished dead bugs in multiple spots. We didn’t even stay the night. Booked a much nicer hotel right down the road for $20/night more.

Location was good - Close to state park and lakeshore. Only one of two beds had sheets. Neither bed had a mattress pad and mattresses were very hard.

Old and in slight disrepair. Terrible linens and no where to hang towels. Good location but not a very nice place. I don’t think I’d stay again. Although owners say they are renovating.

6/10 Good

The hotel lobby and room was very clean, but it had a strong musty odor. The price was reasonable, and the location worked well for us, though. The front desk staff was not friendly, either when we arrived or when we left, as if he did not like his job or did not want to be at work.

Decent facility. Had to call the owner on arrival. No one at the desk. Room was average, stains in the carpet in the room. Only instant coffee in the room. Poor patchy painting in the hallway. There was a huge fight at the opposite end of the motel during the night. One guest stated someone tried kicking in their door with other guests shouting and screaming at each other. Was not asked at checkout how everything was or was offered a receipt. Way over priced and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Ok stay
The hotel is in a great location for the west entrance of the Porcupine Mtns. Guests can view the lake sunset right across the road from the hotel. However, the hotel needs a lot of work. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink. Two beds in the room but only one was made. The mattress was old and hard coil. No ice machine. The breakfast was cold cereal, muffins, yogurt and bananas. There was no juice.

The property has an excellent location, next to the park and with direct access to the beach. However, this is definitively overpriced. The breakfast options and space for breakfast are very limited

Booked and paid for the room about 3 weeks before the visit. Arrived about 5pm, to my name on a sign on the front desk, sitting behind the room key. Nobody at the desk. Just my room key sitting there. Checked out the next day. Still nobody at the desk. Called the phone number. A female answered. I asked her if anyone was working here, that I needed to check out. She told me to just leave the key on the counter. Later that day I received a text stating that I didn't pay my bill and I needed to call them. Disappointing customer service.

Very good place to stay if your visiting the Porcupine Mountains. It’s a family own motel and the family was great and friendly! One of the workers who is not family however who stays at the motel African America looking man was super loud at night tv was loud and he was talking on the phone laughing super loud! The walls in the motel are thin so everything can be heard! The bathroom also had a funky smell to it but nothing to bothering. Other than that and overall it was a great for my family and I to stay!
