This is a quaint mainstay of the Jersey shore area, located inland in what used to be horse country. The staff was very nice, the room pretty nice (showing its age a bit), and the grounds were welcoming. They feed a couple of feral cats at the front of the inn, so you may see them during your visit.
All things being equal, if you want a place that has historic charm, the Colts Neck Inn is a good choice.
