German Roaches!!!!
I used to stay here for year after year until this last trip and checking two rooms that both had German roaches in them!!!! Sadly , I will not be coming back here!!! if you read other reviews, there is other people complaining about the roaches too. If you’re not from the south, German roaches are horrible to get. I will miss this place but I don’t do bugs!!!!!! Whomever has taken over. has just let this place go straight downhill!!

A Nice Visit at Tropical Winds
A return trip for me. The room was clean and comfortable and has been renovated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The cafe is simple and the breakfast was good. Corridors and elevators are a bit dated. I recommend if you don’t need a 5-star.

Parking close to building. We went to our room and there were five roaches within the first half hour. I went to front desk and the lady was very apologetic. She sent me to another room. The door was open. The guys were painting there. She sent us to s third room, more roaches. Finally a fourth room worked. My trip was nearly ruined by this incident. I am very afraid of roaches. I saw the pest control people there the next day. I will never stay there again. The view was amazing on the positive side.

Dirty and run down
Was very unhappy with this hotel. Very run down and not clean. When we got to our room we saw the floors were dirty with crumbs and a sticky black substance, we told the woman at the front desk about it and sent someone to “clean” while we were at dinner. When we returned the floor was still covered in crumbs but the sticky stuff was gone. Husband killed 2 roaches when we were getting ready for bed. Was supposed to be 2 nights stay by we left after 1 night.

Dog smell on linens and dog hair on the floor
I stayed solo with two queen beds, anticipating to use just one. However, upon arrival to the room, I noticed a lot of short dog hair all over the floor.. once I finally laid my head to rest, I became overwhelmed with the stinch of dirty dog… I was disgusted thinking that these linens were not even washed after the last guests… I changed beds and the smell was not an issue. However, the whole experience made me extremely uncomfortable and weary of everything else I touched. Disturbing to say the least.

Hard to enjoy stay with no hot showers
Room was clean, amenities was great for price but both night we checked in an next morning we had no hot water an left with having to take cold shower night of check in an canceling plan to extend stay another night check out earlier to get access to hot shower.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The building was older but it was clean. The outdoor pool was closed the entirety of our stay but my children enjoyed the indoor pool. The indoor pool room was old, hot and humid and I didn’t like the aesthetic with the pipes being shown over our heads, dripping water and the overall gloominess of the pool room. Free breakfast or coffee wasn’t offered but the cafe was cute and the food was just okay. I would stay again but it wouldn’t be my first choice hotel.

There was no tiki bar as advertised. Beach access and pools were great. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice. The onsite restaurant was only open part of the day and closed on Mondays.

Tropical Winds was very clean and quiet, It had 2 elevators (both working) beds were comfortable. The reason we would not return is there was no comfortable place to sit only a most uncomfortable sofa ever made and there was a handiy little kitchen but no place to set anything, no kitchen table and no coffee table.

Such a great location. They could do so much better at keeping it clean and updated. Some of the lounge chairs by the pool need to be changed out. There are Holes in the umbrellas. The indoor pool is disgusting and the ventilation is horrible. They put a used cloth couch by the entrance of the outside pool door which was soaked. (Not smart) They said they were remodeling but they were bringing in such filthy stained mattresses & box springs looked like they got them from the trash! We were hoping they were getting rid of them not bringing them in. We were baffled & disgusted. Management needs to do better to ensure their staff is cleaning and maintaining property.

Nice place
I love this place and have stayed here many times. However, an errant fire alarm at 8:05 am, just as I was getting in the shower 🙄 was a real spoiler. I will be back. Reservations for December and February are on the books already.
