Newly refurbished room, good standard and clean room. The bed was poor, however. Too short (190 cm?), and too narrow (120cm?) for a double superior. No mattress pad, so I slept straight on the base mattress which was hard and had weird and uncomfortable edges, and the sheets weren't really tucked in anywhere, so every morning I woke up sleeping on the bare mattress, which is kind of gross. I asked the reception if there should be a mattress pad that perhaps were missing, but they had never even heard about a mattress pad, so I guess not. The on-going refurbishment also means that I was woken up by an insanely loud hammer drill in the very early morning every day, so steer clear if you're not a morning person. Other than poor sleep quality, I was positively surprised by the hotel. Especially by London standards, this is the nicest hotel I've stayed at for such an affordable price. If you don't mind having your feet sticking out of bed and being woken up by drilling noise every morning, this is a good choice. Just make sure you get the refurbished room. Some friends stayed at the non-refurbished rooms, and they were really not happy at all. Get a refurbished room, and you're going to be OK.
