We reserved a room with king bed. But we were assigned a room with 2 double beds. The staff said it’s because we made the reservation on third party app and there was no available king bed. But I remember the prices for king bed and double beds are different. The king bed was higher. And when we asked the front desk if we can switch to a king bed room after the first night should it be available, the staff said “it will be a busy weekend. Why do you guys want a king bed room?? The double gives you more space!” Well first of all I was traveling with my girlfriend so the king bed was a natural choice of us. Secondly, I believe as a customer, I do not need to explain my preference of the room type to the front desk staff, not considering I paid higher price for this specific room type. Please let your employees treat the customers professionally instead of joking with them and causing potential unhappiness. And sync the data on third party apps and the hotel’s system to make sure what room type is available, instead of giving the wrong one when the customers check-in in midnight.
