This is a good boutique hotel, but it's nowhere near its 9.6 rating - should be more like 8.8 - 9.0. Great friendly staff and there are some nice perks (wine & cheese receptions, free continental breakfast, etc.), but the rooms are dinky (I had to upgrade - the first room was literally a shoe-box), there's no gym on-site (5 blocks away isn't fun in winter!), no lobby lounge area to speak of, and the immediate surrounding area is highly commercial (Grand Central is about 200 yards away). It's priced like an elegant 5-star hotel, but that's just not what this is. Good, not superb.

We could not have been happier with Library Hotel. The location is amazing...we arrived by train at GCT and took the subway to the airport when we left. Walked to theater two nights. Loved the brass tiles on Library Walk. Room was great, esp the poetry collection. Excellent breakfast and happy hour and late-night herbal tea. We even got a couple of advance copy books offered at the front desk. This is our new go-to hotel in NYC!

A wonderful treat to have each floor a different theme and each room and different subject. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

They have a nice dining room that's a library for breakfast & wine/cheese in the late afternoon. I had a couple of meetings with clients during the day & it's very quiet. The front desk is very friendly & helpful. They helped me find Barney's sale!

We always stay here when in Manhattan and have always been very pleased. As a former resident I appreciate the constant superior service here. Last its central location in Murray Hill is a nice bonus.
