Staff is nice . It would be great to have hair dryer provided . Hotel still under renovation. The bread block my way out ( see the pic) . Not for bringing luggage as you need to carry them there climb the stairs . There is only one toilet and one shower place for all genders . No central heating . The bed blanket is thin

I liked the historic old building. The little kitchen was very handy. Didn't like all the noise, and didn't like the faulty toilet door catch, ...and didn't like the huge lack of parking.

I liked that the people staying there or backpacking in the area were super nice, also the staff, I asked for an orange juice down at the pub under the hotel, (connected to the hotel) and when I realised I would t get much because of the small cup they said they could just make it a large to say thanks for staying, really would recommend, but the bed being two singles put together makes it hard to sleep in the middle and hog the bed,

The location is convenient, close to train station and central, cheap price. There‘s no parking lot, you have to parking car beside the street and notice parking time. The water getting cold when we took a shower, it’s hard in winter.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom facilities were in poor condition; the shower area was leaking and the toilet seat wasn’t attached on properly. The cleanliness of the bedroom was good, but the bathroom areas were, once again, in poor condition. The hotel has a lounge/bar area that was right below our room so it loud and not a quiet stay, so wouldn’t recommend to those who are looking for a quieter getaway or those who want to be in bed early. The room door for the stay wasn’t closing all the way and had a gap on top of the door which caused conversations to be heard outside from the room, which unfortunately didn’t feel private. There’s no parking on premises but for weekends there’s free on street parking which is nice for a place that’s in the city circle. The only reason I’d give this place a 3/5 and not 2/5 if due to being close to the city and public transport for $80 a night, which seems to be on the lower end.

Cheap nights stay. Room is very clean but depending on how the other guests are the bathroom can be pretty bad. Either they aren't cleaned enough or other guests don't have the courtesy to leave the communal spaces tidy.

I was surprised how nice the room was furnished seeing it was budget accommodation. I loved that a Kettle was available on the room. Location is great and good for a one night stay especially if you are going out in the evening in Melbourne. The only down side was the shared bathrooms could have been cleaner and there was a crack in the floor of the shower cubical l used. Overall a very good value and l will be returning.

A hidden gem for reasonably priced accommodation in a lovely area. The rooms were visibly clean & I think recently upgraded. The bathroom facilities were a little shabby, but for an overnight stay, it was perfect. (Especially if you are attending a function at the hotel). Would definitely stay again.

We loved the location of the College Lawn, being on the corner in a residential area on the fringe of Chapel Street and a short walk down to the lovely array of shops, cafes and restaurants on Greville St. The hotel itself is a very welcoming and vibrant place with a pretty wholesome menu, helpful staff and some of the best Old Fashioned and Espresso Martinis we’ve ever tried. The room itself was very fresh, clean and comfortable with lovely touches for a room so economical. The shared bathrooms were more traditional hostel-like but did the job. Having a shared kitchen was a welcome bonus. We would definitely recommend the College Lawn as a comfortable, well-positioned, economical and more-than-meets-the-eye accommodation for a stay in the Windsor area of Melbourne.

Lovely people, fantastic service, nice pub, the room was basic but clean, the bathrooms and showers were bad and the overall building needs a MASIVE clean and repair. it is certainly better than sleeping in your car yet the bathrooms are on par with a petrol station.
