Would give this a miss.

I was hopeful when I saw the lobby but the hotel is getting quite run down. It was hot when we were there, there is no air conditioning and the windows (I am assuming for safety) only opened a few inches so it was nearly impossible to get any air into the room unless I also opened the door (with limited effect).

A great old fashioned hotel, direct access from the grond floor reception to the room with no nasty keycard required for lifts or floor access. The Britannis feels like a open easy access hotel. Recommend for ad-hoc meets

Worst service in Coventry

The worst service I’ve seen ever. It was too cold. Night around 2 AM I contacted the reception to turn on the heater. But they said they can’t do it. The way they responded was too harsh as if I’m staying without paying. This is really the worst experience I’ve ever faced.

When we arrived we found a wet bathroom floor wasn't a major issue as there was a leak which looked like it was from the toilet we did report it other than that we had a decent stay I would recommend this hotel it's in a great location too

This was possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. No proper locks on doors, dirty and broken facilities. Unhelpful staff. Just awful.

£15 early check in is a bit steep

Arrived early but early check in was £15 so we just left the bags with them and went out. Request for a room with a bath was met, which was wonderful. Toilet was seperste to bathroom which was strange but both were clean and the bed comfortable.

Never got to stay there. Still need a refund. I came fro. Surrey. They rused me entry for no good reason. The place was filthy in reception . I had ID. However a man turned up signed in without any ID but they let him stop. Someone complained about lighting and hot water while i was in reception. The staff were rude and awful.

A good bet if you're not too fussy, and convenient

It's in central Coventry, with the cathedral and shops a few minutes walk away, and the Transport Museum over the road. It's also right next to the main bus station (which connects to the trains, which connect to the planes...). Condition-wise, I've always thought that this Britannia betters its Birmingham counterpart, and this still seems to be the case. Everything in my room worked, it was reasonably clean, but things like wallcoverings, bathroom grout and carpet had all seen better days. Sleep comfort was quite good, though in this warm spell the room was a little stuffy and being quite central there is always going to be some traffic noise. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel if you're not too fussy about the decor - it's public transport friendly, and fair value.

The Hotel.is a nice place to stay opposite the main bus station and close to city centre.Right near some good restraunts and a good Witherspoon's pub. After 6pm you have to press a button to enter the hotel with security on so quite safe

You get what you pay for.

Dated but clean hotel. In need of a refurbishment. Radiator in room didn't work, plugged heater in but room was still cold. Otherwise quiet, and staff helpful. Parking was off site, not as described, and payable. OK for price paid (Hotels.com kindly refunded our parking cost too)

Location great but needs upgrading

The location is good, right in the city centre. The reception area is ok. However, the rest of the hotel needs an upgrade. The room itself and definitely the bathroom needed upgrading. The room seemed clean enough but when I hung something in the wardrobe it got dusty.

Wifi is bad in the rooms on high floors

Hotels.com advertised free onsite parking but this is not available. Had trouble with the wifi but this seems to be the norm with Btittania hotels. It happened in Blackpool and the receptionist admitted its a problem in a lot of their hotels in rooms on high floors. Room was clean with a nice bath as I'd requested. The bed was a little uncomfortable for us but we both have back problems so it would probably be OK for other people.

Nice hotel in a good location.

Good location. As I arrived early I was allowed to check in at 2.30 pm. Probably should have read when I made the booking but I did not realise WiFi was not free! Not everyone requires 24 hours so I thought £7 was a bit excessive.
