We were assigned a first-floor room on arrival, and the moment we opened the door we were hit with a strong wet-dog smell. I called the front desk immediately. The agent apologized and explained it was a pet-friendly room that should have received an extra cleaning, which clearly hadn’t happened. She moved us to a third-floor room, but as a family of four with two small children and lots of bags, hauling everything upstairs was an added burden.
On the way, we noticed heavily stained hallway carpet and peeling wallpaper—surprising given that an earlier email described this as a “brand-new” property. The third-floor room was cleaner, but the same animal odor seemed to linger through the night.
Front desk service was courteous, but housekeeping and maintenance fell well short of expectations, and the “brand-new” description felt misleading. This stay did not meet basic standards for cleanliness or condition. Management needs to address deep cleaning of pet rooms, carpet replacement, and wall repairs before calling this property new.
