First, I could hear a male and female talking on the other side of the wall in the office, but had to use a phone (dial "0") twice -- letting each time ring until the hotel's answering system kicked in -- before the female checked me in. The room: I have never smelled a worse hotel room in my life. I can only describe it as a combination of cat litter box and chicken coop smell. I was exhausted from driving nearly 16 hours and just lived with it. Then I noticed the window was open (no screen on the window), heater was not on, and it was very cold in the room. The little rod that blocks the window from opening all of the way had been propped-up, allowing someone to crawl in/out of the room. No one was in the room/bathroom, thankfully.
I hate leaving negative reviews, but this time it is readily deserved. I have not idea how this hotel got a 7+ rating from Hotels.com, but it must have been from management and employees having their friends leave fake review (or something).
