Great hotel, locatiob
We enjoyed our five days in Santa Fe at the Hotel St. Francis. The downtown location is second to none, and the El Secreto bar is a gem. The people working the front desk are friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is the odor coming from the sink, which is located a few feet from the bed. The hotel should find a deodorizer and warn guests about the fumes. We covered the drain with a washcloth, which helped. During our stay, we learned that sink odors in the historic district are common.

I have stayed at this hotel at least ten times. I like the location and parking. However, I have never been recognized as a frequent visitor nor even asked. I also had what must be one of the worst rooms in the hotel. Second floor looking at a huge fan and dirty wall on the other side of floor. The hotel and town did not seem busy so I find that odd. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were very nice.

Great hotel comfortable rooms!
This historical hotel was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Tuesdays the restiraunts are closed througout the town. The bar was nice, ill come back for a weekend trip when things are more busseling.

Great location, very small rooms
I've stayed here before -- you stay for the location! Rooms are VERY small. Bed was comfortable, but carpet was a bit worn out. Bathroom was so small you can't access the shower stall if the door is open. Pros: Great location. Super walkable to the downtown core. The lobby sofas are a great location to sit by the fireplace and read a book or chat with friends outside the very small room. Cons: They charge a $30 nightly "amenity fee" even though there is no gym, spa, or pool on site. (They say you can go to their sister properties to access the gym and spa... huh?). This is on top of the room rate. We found the staff at the Gruet tasting room to be generally unfriendly, bordering on rude. My room was on the street side and there was a LOT of street noise. Overall: perfectly serviceable. I would stay here again, but will probably look for other options the next time I visit.

Pretty , but lacking in service and under staffed
Stayed here several years ago and it was lovely. This trip was extremely lacking at the price point. Tiny room barely big enough to fit the bed overlooking the ventilation shaft. Lobby only ever had a single staff person doing check in, tending to the lobby, and valet. No one to greet you at the door, no assistance with bags , no one at the valet stand. Bar was also severely under staffed. We left after 15 min of no acknowledgment. Candles in the beautiful lobby never got turned on. Overall.. did not meet expectations.

I was to be upgraded per my last visit that had room problems. I ended up with a room grade less than my original one. Long short, the reception desk was the worst I have encountered in some time. The hotel is lovely on so many other levels. It is sad that employees are so uncaring and rude.
