The New Yorker is highly overpriced for what you get as a guest. First off, there's a long line to register, and it's not because it's so popular: it's mismanaged and understaffed.
Next, as we registered we were told there is a resort fee and "we don't need to have a resort to charge a resort fee"
The keys repeatedly didn't work and I have to wait for the night manager t finally resolve this. We were also told the keys were subject to getting demagnetized by simply being near electronics, metal detectors, credit cards, etc. So basically, in NYC its practically guaranteed to get demagnetized.
As for the rooms: TINY and UNOPTIMIZED. If you're going to make a room tiny, at least make it so its functional. This is an old outdated hotel that is way overdue for upgrades. Will not come back again if I can avoid it.
